- And why would these be in the public domain in Japan? According to Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Japan, "Copyright subsists for the life of the author plus 70 years". Yann (talk) 22:59, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- The copyright law in Japan was changed in 2018 to extend the terms to “Life + 70 years”, but it was “Life + 50 years” before 2018. See {{PD-Japan}}. Tvpuppy (talk) 23:06, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
