Unidentified images

Category:Unidentified subjects in Iran and Category:Unidentified locations in Tehran have 600+ images of unidentified subjects in Iran that we need help properly categorizing! If you recognise even just one of these images, please click it and add the appropriate categorization so it can be removed from the list. Sometimes the filename even helps, uploaders just haven't found the right categories.

• When requesting, please provide the name of the article and reason with your signature to the list of requests.

• I spotted the gangplank on Alvand-72 was Category:IRIS 72 Alborz so created the category and thought it might be a good clean-up task to tackle...identifying the ships by hullnumbers. Use w:List of current ships of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy as a guide to hull numbers to whittle down Category:Navy of Iran :) FaNoFtHeAiRiCeLaNd

The two giving me difficulty are File:The 43rd Fleet of Army’s Navy has been navigating international waters in north of Indian Ocean for 28 days, returned Jask on Wednesday.7.jpg (Hull 185) and File:Iranian Alvand class frigat.JPEG...the latter, assuming it is correctly an Alvand should be 71, 72, 73 or 74...yet shows only "7"; if an Iranian government release I would assume it was an intelligence-job to wipe the trailing digit...but by a US photographer? • [OK], I created the categories as "Category:IRIS #### NAME", so you can use hotcat or similar to simply type "IRIS" followed by the hull number you see in the image, and it should automatically suggest to you the name of the ship :) FaNoFtHeAiRiCeLaNd (talk)

• Having discovered the beauty of Commons:CropTool, reducing each photo to perhaps 5-10 seconds I would appreciate if others would help whittle down the backlog of Category:Images by Auoob farabi with watermarks and Category:Photos from tasnimnews.com and other Category:Images with watermarks FaNoFtHeAiRiCeLaNd (talk) 19:35, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
