Description
English: This figure provides calculations for how much of a distant object is visible to an observer.

Measurements are given in feet and miles. An example is given for an observer (ho) with eye level of 6 feet above sea level, to a lighthouse 130 feet above sea level (h2), 15 miles away (do) from observer. Earth's radius is assumed to be 3,960 miles.

Atmospheric refraction is not taken into account.
