Geburtshaus HR Giger. Der Künstler Hansruedi
«HR» Giger (1940-2014) zählt zu den bedeutends-
ten Vertretern des Phantastischen Realismus.
Zunächst für seine einzigartigen Airbrush-Arbei-
ten und Skulpturen bekannt, kreierte und ent-
wickelte HR Giger einen unverwechselbaren
Kosmos, unverkennbare biomechanische Welten.
HR Gigers weltweit gewürdigtes Werk hat in
der zeitgenössischen Kunst und Kultur Spuren
hinterlassen. 1980 erhielt er für seine Mitarbeit
an Ridley Scotts Science-Fiction-Film «Alien» den
«Oscar» in der Kategorie «Beste visuelle Effekte».
Heute sind seine wichtigsten Arbeiten im HR
Giger Museum in Gruyère ausgestellt.
