Deutsch: Der Ornithologe Prof. Wolfgang Wiltschko, Universität Frankfurt am Main, neben einer Versuchsanordnung zum Nachweis des Magnetsinns bei Hühnerküken. Abgebildet ist im Zentrum der gegen Lichteinflüsse geschützte, drehbare, schwarz lackierte Käfig für die Testtiere, darüber und links werden die Kupferdrahtbündel zum Erzeugen eines künstlichen Magnetfeldes über ein insgesamt achteckiges doppeltes Führungsgestell aus Holz geführt.
English: Wolfgang Wiltschko next to his experimental set-up to demonstrate the magnetic sense in chicks: the cable, with the help of which a magnetic field is generated, runs along the octagonal wooden strips that can be seen in the foreground; in the center of the picture is the recreation room for the test animals, mounted on a turntable and clad in black to block light cues from outside.
