Original caption: "Extensive renovation of famous Pontalba Building "A" (Upper) was completed by WPA as of 6/23/1936. Building has been converted into a memorial house of governors and rooms furnished in period furniture representing various governors when Louisiana was French, Spanish and subsequently American territory.
