Not callously, but with respect and intention, and a deep regard for the deities that govern the happenings in the Universe. The Nongkynia (ritual performer, in picture), reads the broken shells of the egg as the will and intention of God. The shells placement gives an answer to the questions placed in front of them. The egg, is not symbolic here. It is a communicative modality through which U Blei (deity) speaks. Knowledge, here, emerges each time in a different shape.
