English: HMS Beagle (1820-1870), the second of a number of ships bearing this name, was a 10-gun Cherokee class brig-sloop, launched in 1820, converted to a survey ship in 1825, a customs watchvessel in 1846, and sold in 1870. In the second voyage of Beagle (1831-1836), the eminent English naturalist Charles Darwin (1809-1882) took part.
