Template:Offsite discussion annotation

Place below a user's first comment, in a discussion where there is evidence of discussion on other sites pointing users to the Commons discussion, and that this has brought users into the discussion who have not contributed before, or not contributed for a long time (see Commons:Offsite_discussion#Canvassing.2Fadvertising). The annotation should neutrally and non-judgementally state relevant verifiable facts, like "first contribution in 2012". The template signs automatically, but this only works if the template is subst:ed.
