Anthony Dominick Benedetto, known as Tony Bennett (born 3 August 1926 in New York City, died 21 July 2023 in Queens, New York), was an American singer of popular music, standards, show tunes, and jazz. Bennett was also an accomplished painter, having created works—under the name Anthony Benedetto—that are on permanent public display in several institutions. He was the founder of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, New York City.
