Deutsch: Big Sur ist ein Küstenstreifen im US-Bundesstaat Kalifornien zwischen Carmel-by-the-Sea im Norden und San Simeon im Süden. Die Santa Lucia Range steigt hier abrupt aus dem Meer auf. Verkehrsmäßig wird die Region fast ausschließlich durch California State Route 1 erschlossen.
English: Big Sur is a rugged and mountainous section of the Central Coast of California between Carmel and San Simeon, where the Santa Lucia Mountains rise abruptly from the Pacific Ocean. The only major road that provides access is California State Route 1.
