The AgeClassification extension allows the addition of meta-data and an age classification's identification button from “Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle Multimedia-Diensteanbieter e.V.” (FSM) (Voluntary Self-Regulation of Multimedia Service Providers) to a wikis Sidebar .

Use

Install the extension and for the setup in the LocalSettings.php see the FSM manual.

Installation

For recent versions of MediaWiki (1.35+), use the following instruction:

• Check-out the sources with git clone https://github.com/WikiMANNia/MediaWiki-Extension-AgeClassification.git and place the file(s) in a directory called AgeClassification in your extensions/ folder.
• Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php file:

  wfLoadExtension( 'AgeClassification' );
  

• Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.

Remarks

• Branch REL1_25 works from REL1_25 and has been tested up to MediaWiki version REL1_37 .
• Branch REL1_35 works from REL1_35 and has been tested up to MediaWiki version REL1_43 .
• The extension was tested with the following MediaWiki versions: 1.35.14, 1.39.11, 1.40.2, 1.41.2, 1.42.3, 1.43.0
• Version 1.5 has some refactoring:

  • Changed "configuration schema", replaced manifest version 1 with version 2 and changed the prefix of the configuration variables from default to wm.
  • Replaced class AgeClassificationHooks (extends "Hooks") with class implements interfaces.

• Version 1.5.1 adds a dirty hack for skin Timeless .
• Version 1.6.0 has added support for skin Monaco .
• Version 1.6.1 changed the prefix of the configuration variables back to wg.
• Version 1.7.0 has added support for skin Citizen .
• Version 1.7.1 added compatibility with MediaWiki v1.44.
