OpenSearch
Not be confused with the Opensearch API
OpenSearch (or Amazon OpenSearch) is an open-source search engine that offers full-text search and analytics. It is a fork of Elasticsearch created by Amazon Web Services in 2021 and now developed by the OpenSearch Software Foundation, a project of the Linux Foundation.
The CirrusSearch extension uses Elasticsearch up to version 1.43 as its backend. MediaWiki 1.44+ is compatible with OpenSearch 1.3.
