Tell us about how you contribute currently, and how you would contribute if WMF were to gift a used laptop to you.

  • I am the founder of [Deoband Community Wikimedia]] and chair its executive board, and I am seeking the equipment for the affiliate. The affiliate has 2 broken and malfunctioning laptops, but given its strategic development, it would be easier to have a working laptop. This equipment would allow DCW volunteers to contribute to some of the affiliate's necessary tasks, such as making training videos, graphics, etc. DCW stable activity plans available, and this equipment would ease a lot of our tasks, as we plan to implement our plans, particularly with strategic programs like "Muslims in Medicine", focused on people, books, etc. Through our programs and activities, DCW has made a considerable impact over the years, and the gifted equipment would help us do more of it through our upcoming plans.

I have contributed over 110+ articles on English Wikipedia alone with two GAs (en:Mahmud Hasan Deobandi and en:Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind), and I am really proud of this work. I have over 14+ Did You Know contributions on English Wikipedia (en:User:Aafi/DYK). I have been contributing as an administrator on Wikimedia Commons, Meta-Wiki, Urdu Wikiquote, and Urdu Wikipedia, where I am also a bureaucrat. I also volunteer as a translation administrator across projects. Off-wiki, I work with DCW as a Program Manager and lead all its programs. The proudest work for DCW that I have done is initiating the DCW Conversation Hour, together with other initiatives.
Though I have not closely worked on healthcare/health-related content, I have created en:Rafiq Ahmad Pampori, a biographical article about a Kashmir-based top practitioner of neuroscience.

At the DCW, we are looking forward to initiating a specific program, "Muslims in Medicine," to help curate content on Wiki projects, and we would appreciate it if the laptop is granted. The laptop can be handed over to Shadabgdg at the Language Diversity Conference. He was recently elected to the DCW Board.
