Tell us about how you contribute currently, and how you would contribute if WMF were to gift a used laptop to you.

I have involved with the Wikimedia movement since March 2017. I am an active Wikimedia contributor with near about 33000+ global edits till now. I am mostly active contributor in Bengali Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, English Wikipedia, Meta-Wiki, MediaWiki and crosswiki patrolling. I contribute to tasks which can be performed easily on mobile and most of that I do by Desktop view on mobile.

With this gift I can contribute to more complicated zones which are not possible on mobile, apart from that I can also actively help monitor small wikis. I`ve a bot account (BanglaBot) which currently run via AWB that also can run on my own computer

Please consider a laptop which can handle heavy task. i5/i7 processor, 8/+ GB of ram with graphics card would be best suited for my usages. So that I can also involve Wikitech Phabricator, Toolforge.

I urgently looking for a laptop at the moment, I am willing to change if a laptop is found in my specification.

I am also interested in contributing to healthcare related content in collaboration with WikiProject Med, particularly through Wikidata and technical tools.

Healthcare-related contributions

I have contributed to healthcare related content primarily through Wikidata and Wikipedia by improving structured data and maintaining content quality. This includes.

• Adding and maintaining medical related items on Wikidata (e.g., diseases, medications, healthcare institutions), including labels, descriptions, and references.
• Supporting content organization and interlinking of medical topics across languages.
• Assisting in vandalism monitoring and quality control, including healthcare-related pages as part of crosswiki patrolling (SWMT).
• Experience working with large-scale data tasks that can support medical knowledge dissemination, especially in underrepresented languages like Bengali.

With access to a laptop, I would be able to:

• Contribute more effectively to medical content on Wikidata and Wikipedia.
• Run bots/tools to improve healthcare-related datasets.
• Support WikiProject Med-related technical and content tasks, including Toolforge-based work.

Wikimania pickup

If awarded, I will not be able to attend Wikimania in Paris.

The laptop can be collected on my behalf by User:Yahya, who is a trusted member of the Wikimedia community from Bangladesh. Alternatively, another trusted Wikimedia community member from Bangladesh can coordinate the pickup if needed.
