A short explainer of how Arbitration Committees work

Nos projetos da Fundação Wikimédia, um Comité de Arbitragem (por vezes abreviado como "ArbCom") é um pequeno grupo de utilizadores de confiança que servem como meio de resolução de litígios iniciados em alguns projetos da Fundação Wikimédia. As decisões, políticas e procedimentos diferem entre projetos, dependendo dos contextos locais e culturais. De acordo com os "Termos de Utilização" da Wikimédia, os utilizadores não são obrigados a ter uma disputa resolvida por um "ArbCom".^[1] O primeiro projeto da Wikimédia a utilizar um comité de arbitragem foi a Wikipédia em sueco.^[2] The English Wikipedia ArbCom was created by Jimmy Wales as an extension of the decision-making power he formerly held as CEO of site-owner Bomis Inc., to take over his role in resolving complex disputes between users.^[3] Arbitration Committees are now used on 12 Wikipedia versions.

Composição

Conselhos de arbitragem geralmente possuem de cinco a quinze membros, os quais são conhecidos como árbitros. Os mandatos variam em duração, sendo alguns deles de até três anos.

persa (formed in 2010 with limited purview, mainly a supervisory council for complaints against admins; not been in session since 2024)
