Our objective
We aim to provide new learning solutions for teachers and educators and to become a recognised player in the Swiss education system. We focus on schools and universities, but we also embrace lifelong learning for everyone to improve individual skills and competences in the broad field of digital literacy. Through our activities, Wikimedia’s open content, platforms, technologies and community find meaningful opportunities.
Our principles
1. Engage, empower, network and commit to teachers
2. Establish long-term partnerships at an institutional level
3. Weave a network rather than prioritising a single focal point
4. Respect linguistic and regional differences with good practices
5. Provide means and opportunities for professional development
6. Systematically share within the Wikimedia Movement

Education and Artificial Intelligence
In an age of increasing disinformation and fake news, it is more important than ever for young people to understand the mechanisms of information gathering and processing. Schools play a key role in this educational work: with a view to PISA 29 and the focus on Media and Artificial Intelligence Literacy, it is clear just how urgently this knowledge needs to be imparted.
Independent, neutral and verifiable knowledge not only strengthens our democracy, but also forms the essential basis for precise AI systems. Those who understand how open knowledge platforms work – and that human-verified facts are an absolute prerequisite for AI systems and chatbots to be able to use and reproduce accurate information – develop the necessary resilience for the digital space.
