30 Minutes Editing for 30 Days

Join a month-long hybrid Wikimedia editing campaign designed for everyone from complete beginners taking their first steps into Wikipedia editing to experienced Wikimedians looking to contribute consistently and collaboratively.

Held daily throughout the month of June from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, this initiative encourages participants to dedicate at least 30 minutes each day to editing Wikimedia projects. While 30 minutes is the minimum commitment, participants are welcome to continue editing for as long as they wish. The goal is to build consistency, encourage participation, and strengthen the global culture of open knowledge sharing.

Date - June 1st - June 30th

This event serves as both a summer activity and a community-driven awareness campaign that highlights the importance of Wikimedia platforms in bridging knowledge gaps, improving representation, and preserving shared histories and information. Beyond editing, the project emphasizes the people behind Wikimedia, the volunteers, researchers, students, professionals, and everyday contributors whose dedication keeps free knowledge accessible to all.

Participants will learn how to edit Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects in real time through communal editing sessions, mentorship, collaborative discussions, and practical guidance. The program aims to foster stronger editing communities, encourage collective learning, and demonstrate that consistency and collaboration are core strengths of impactful editors.

The event will take place physically at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montreal, located at 1920 Rue Baile, and will also be accessible virtually via Zoom, allowing participants from anywhere in the world to join daily sessions throughout June.

Whether you are curious about Wikimedia for the first time or already part of the movement, this is an opportunity to learn, contribute, connect, and grow within a global community committed to free and open knowledge.
