The Simple English Wikipedia is the edition of Wikipedia that uses simple English. It is dedicated to using simple vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure, but is not intended to have simpler content.

The project has 3.93% as many articles, 0.8% as many edits, and 1.21% as many active editors as English Wikipedia. It was proposed for closure most recently in 2018 on the basis that "there is no proof that the project is reaching its target audience", but the proposal was rejected because of a lack of consensus and policy justifications.
