Etymology

Literally, lightning bolt in a clear sky. See κεραυνός m (keravnós) and the ancient terms in the phrase ἐν (en, in) & the dative αἰθρίᾳ (aithríāi) of feminine αἰθρία (aithría)[1] (by ellipsis of a feminine noun) of adjective αἴθριος (aíthrios).
