Bandera de Coronel Suarez

Hola.

Nointro225 (talk) 19:19, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Nointro225: ! First of all, you don't need to worry about writting me in Spanish so I have always been using English to communicate in the Wiki projects. I guess you refer to en:Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football uniforms, don't you? In fact, I have not been very active in the design area due to some problems with my computer hardware (I use a Wacom graphic tablet for my work), and because of some troubles with that device, I've been temporarily "out of business" here.
But I would gladly help you with the uniforms, at least I will try. If I realise that can't carry on, I'll let you know. Thanks for the message and keep in touch. PD: BTW, do you have any source where I can see the Bulldogs new uniforms, as visual references? Thanks! Fma12 (talk) 21:21, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for the response, I would appreciate the assistance! That is the correct Wikipedia page, the current uniform shown is over 10 years old and some of the editors have been discussing getting it updated. If you aren't able to work on it please don't worry, I just wanted to ask! I've noticed your designs for other teams and didn't know if you still did them.
These are some sources for our new uniforms. The first link shows our main uniform combination, a white helmet along with blue jersey/pants as well as a white jersey and pants. The second link shows the other common helmet we use, a red helmet. Finally, the last link shows an alternate uniform the team has worn for special occasions the past few seasons, although I'm not sure if it's worth including. If you need any more sources or angles please let me know.

Incorrect change of licence

Hi, I have reverted your change of licence at this file for two reasons. First, PD-UK-Unknown can only be used where the author is anonymous but in this case we have the lithographer's name (PD-old-assumed is the better fit as we don't know the author's death date). Second, PD-Art is for use where you take a photograph of an artwork from a distance (such as photographing a painting hung up in a gallery) but this looks like a mechanical scan of a single sheet. From Hill To Shore (talk) 20:11, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I did not modify the edit after your reversion because the author's name is known. Fma12 (talk) 19:33, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Misunderstanding, error or confusion

Hello @Fma12, I wanted to apologize for a misunderstanding with the logos, I do not intend to infringe copyright, I had the wrong license and I was not forced into this misunderstanding, please. Flexingflex1224 (talk) 11:10, 2 June 2024 (UTC)

Question: Move previously deleted files in Commons should be transferred in English Wikipedia?

Flags and coat of arms of the municipalities, cities and towns in Argentina should be transferred in English Wikipedia. In Commons, deleted upon the copyright law is changed. The copyright law in Argentina was changed in 2023, but not retroactive. do you need this action. TentingZones1 (talk) 04:45, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

@TentingZones1: Sorry but I can't fully understand your point. If the municipal coat of arms is above the threshold of originality, it should not be transferred to commons at all because it will be nominated for deletion.
As far aas I know, there were not significative changes in the copyright law no. 11,723 (at least to consider some symbols suitable for commons). If you have evidence of that, please provide me the links. Fma12 (talk) 09:32, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
I mentioned recently uploaded here (Coat of arms of Trelew), it was uploaded in English Wikipedia as fair use. TentingZones1 (talk) 09:38, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
@TentingZones1: The Trelew coat is uploaded as fair use because it has copyrightable elements. According to this source, the coat was created in 1965 by Jorge C. Rodríguez Nelli.
Therefore the coat is copyrighted so the author name is known, and {{PD-old}} can't be applied. Fma12 (talk) 09:41, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

Request: Syracuse Orange

Hi there, I noticed your NCAA football uni contributions and noticed that one of the major Power-4 teams, Syracuse Orange football, was missing. Would you please add this one? I would really appreciate it. Also, if possible, uniforms for the Syracuse Orange women's ice hockey team would be appreciated too. Thanks. Kiran891 (talk) 01:46, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

@Kiran891: Hi, I didn't realise that the Syracuse Uniform was missing, in fact, I don't know how could I ommitted to design it. I will be working on it. Thank you Fma12 (talk) 10:13, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
Any updates? Thanks for helping. Kiran891 (talk) 02:28, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
Just remembered about this. Any updates? Kiran891 (talk) 00:34, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
Hi, @Kiran891: since my graphic tablet failed to function (I had started to use such device after I was diagnosed with tendonitis on my right hand), I'm not be able to do such designs :-( and that's the main reason why I have not been uploading or adding new patterns. Using a mouse to design on computer is not an option for the reasons explained.
I hope I can get a new device soon because I'm willing to be back to graphic design. Thanks for your message and I'll be contacting you when I can update those uniforms. Fma12 (talk) 18:23, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Request -- correction to logo update MPC

Hi @Fma12 -

I wanted to point out that the Marathon Petroleum corporate logo was not changed as this page currently indicates. The logo for branded Marathon retail gas stations was updated but not the company.

"...the retail brand debuted a new Endurance image, including a retooled logo..."

Hola!

Information on which your Argentinian railway maps were based on

Hola Fernando, I'm doing some scientistic research on railway infrastructure in Germany and Argentina and I found all the maps you created of Argentinian railway networks. They are very helpful. Great job! May I ask on which information your maps are based? You even have lines included that can not be found in Overpass turbo or on OpenRailwayMap. Thank you for your help, Abrazo from Germany! Felipe Berner (talk) 05:19, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

@Felipe Berner: Hi Felipe, I'm very pleased you liked my maps and, better yet, you can use as reference for your research about railway. Well, the distinctive feature of my maps is that I did not traced them from existing drawings. Otherwise, I collected information from several books such as Historia del Ferrocarril del Sud (by Willams Rogind, 1937), Historia del ferrocarril al norte del Gran Buenos Aires by Ariel Bernasconi, and British Railways in Argentina 1857-1914 by Colin Lewis (some of my main references, these books are available on ebay or similar stores).
Apart from that, I also took old printed maps of Argentina (most of them, extracted from students book used during my school years) which included most of the missing railway lines, using them as reference to trace the tracks myself on Coreldraw.
I hope this helps you, but if you want more information or assistance, don't hesitate to contact me. "Abrazo de gol"! Fernando Fma12 (talk) 15:19, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Hello, Fma12. In File:ESCUDO DE LANÚS.14.png you cropped the logo which I appreciate, however you also changed the colors of the stars, could you please change it back to white? As Lanús currently uses the stars on their logos as white, on social media and even on the uniform. Another file with the seven gold stars has been uploaded with the name File:Escudo de Lanús 2024 - 7 estrellas.png. I will soon ask to rename the white stars file to avoid confusion. So if you could add your file to the other file and revert the one with the white stars, I would appreciate it. That is, unless you don't think it should be reversed. Anyway I will be waiting for your response. Regards, nicolas talkpage★★★ 10:11, 7 November 2024 (UTC)

"Historical images of San Luis train station"

A couple of things since I noticed you recreated the category. First, having a specific "historical images" category for a former train station makes no sense and is just redundant because it's a historical building to begin with. So every image of it is inherently "historical." Second, there was a consensus in Commons:Categories for discussion/2019/09/Category:Historical images to depreciate "historical images" categories. If what you mean by "historical images" is "old photographs" or whatever then just create a category for the station based on the decade or something. Recreating a category that was previously deleted due to the outcome of a CFD isn't really helpful though. Adamant1 (talk) 21:39, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

@Adamant1: I understand your point of view about former train stations. Considering that San Luis has not operated since 1993, I'm going to make a redirect from the "historical images" category. I didn't know the existence of the discussion you mentioned, but I will take into account for the future. Thanks for your message. Fma12 (talk) 22:33, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

Stop!

I would be very grateful if you would stop insulting me so openly here in this project. Your claims are almost slanderous. If you think I am not "notable", then we can clear that up. But even beyond that, it is perfectly OK for Wikimedians to have pictures of themselves doing their Wikimedia work on Commons. As a Wikimedian with 20 years of experience, 19 on Commons and most of that time as an admin, I really don't see why I should accept to have to be treated so stupidly. I was already a Wikipedian in Residence, spoke about Wikipedia at universities and other important institutions, and published on Wikipedia and Wikimedia before you made your first edit here. The fact that someone like you thinks they can deny my importance is completely unacceptable! Disrespectful! Marcus Cyron (talk) 23:40, 28 January 2025 (UTC)

@Marcus Cyron: Insulting? Where is the insult or offense? "Non notable" is a statement that not only me but other editors commonly use in DRs when a person is not well known to support the request. I was going to nominate your images but then undid it because I realised you use your selfies as profile pictures on wikimedia. So I ask you please not to come here and treat me as a bully when I'm clearly not one, I've been here on Commons for as long as you have (19 years) and have contributed enough images (near 23,000) to know how this website runs.
So I ask you to control your temper with me and not come accusing me of things I am not and have not done. I have nothing personal with you, and I am pretty busy to deal with overly sensitive people who take a simple edit as a personal attack. That is the last thing I am going to say to you, and I hope it is clear. You are the one who should apologize for such a reaction.

College Basketball NCAA Divisions and NAIA

Hi Fma12, I hope you are doing well and I appreciate your college basketball contributions. I just wanted to say that we've upgraded the categories for men's and women's college basketball by NCAA Divisions I, II and III and also by NAIA teams instead of the more generic category, Category:College men's basketball teams in the United States.

- NAIA men's basketball teams (9 C)
- NCAA Division I men's basketball teams (258 C)
- NCAA Division II men's basketball teams (18 C)
- NCAA Division III men's basketball teams (8 C)

Awesome job adding both men's and women's individual teams, but please categorize by the level of each team. I appreciate all you do and I wish you well. All good and take care. Spatms (talk) 09:24, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi, @Spatms: thanks for the message and specially your kind words to me. I'll take into account your suggestion about categories in order that every collegiate team can be easy to find. And sorry if I committed some mistake but I was not aware about such existing categories.
Thanks again and best wishes, pal. Fma12 (talk) 17:32, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

College Basketball and Volleyball Arenas

Hi again Fma12, Still hope you are well. I wanted to run something by you. I noticed you had changed schools arenas to more generic categories. Two examples are Category:Louisiana–Monroe Warhawks basketball and Category:McNeese State Cowboys and Cowgirls basketball. We're trying to have less generic categories for accuracy on the site, but unfortunately when the arenas and gyms are moved to the generic categories from the more detailed men's and women's categories, the information is now inaccurate. At many universities, many men's and women's basketball teams and men's and women's volleyball play at different arenas, so when the arena categories are changed, the information is incorrect. It also causes blank categories. Once again, I appreciate all you do. I just wanted to point this out, so we can give users the most accurate and correct information possible by leaving the arenas and gyms in the appropriate men's and women's categories. Take care and be well. Spatms (talk) 10:08, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

@Spatms: Hi again bro. Well, I don't really remember each edit or change I made so they were certainly a lot, but in the cases of basketball or volleyball venues, I used those categories after reading that a team uses the same arena for both sport. If I made a mistake with my changes, sorry about that, it was not my intention.
Next time I'll let you know if I'm not sure about a change or it turns complicated for me. Thanks again for the tips and advices. Fma12 (talk) 17:38, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello, The text logo you added at the bottom of the info box in the Waynesburg University Wikipedia article doesn't fully show the seal. Here is a better version in SVG format: https://www.waynesburg.edu/themes/waynesburg/logo.svg . Could you replace the current logo image with this better new one please? I am inexperienced and don't want to create an account. Also, in the history section where you added some text to the General Anthony Wayne portrait, can you please change the word "honour" to "honor"? Honour is British spelling whereas honor is American spelling (as I'm sure you know); and since it's an American university, I think it would be better to use American spelling. Thank you. 2A02:1210:2C5A:AE00:A1BE:FA92:CC8F:5F9D 01:18, 29 April 2025 (UTC)

Soft drinks

Thanks for your effort with fixing photos/logos and getting free ones for Coca Cola, Pepsi Wild Cherry and several other drinks on Wikipedia. There are 2 things I have wanted to say:

1) You updated the Pepsi Twist logo to File:Pepsi Twist logo from 2023.svg. However a problem with it is that the text TWIST is yellow and because of that can look almost invisible on a white background (at least to me). I recommend that this the TWIST text is edited with a fine outline if you know how to do it.

2) I have noticed another user has made and uploaded several new photos of drinks and put them to articles like this one for Fanta: File:Fanta orang 1.jpg and Sprite: File:Sprite lemon lime 1.jpg. I wanted to crop these (so that they look better formatted on the Infobox) but can you confirm that these photos are good and legal for use? 3marish alt (talk) 00:26, 30 September 2025 (UTC)

Hi, @3marish alt: , first of all, thanks for your recognition to my work. I had realised that most of soft drinks logos were unaccurate or unnecesarily under a NFCC license so I tried to add free versions of them so they could be used in other wikis as well.
1) about the Pepsi twist logo: I could modify the yellow tone to a darker one, but It could be out of scope and the original work would be distorted. The option of adding a shadow is not bad but I'm not very convinced. I'll search for the best option to make it easier to visualise.
2) File:Fanta orang 1.jpg could be nominated for deletion according to commons:packaging so I would prefer not to use it. On the other hand, I see no problem with File:Sprite lemon lime 1.jpg, which fits into PD-textlogo. If there is something else i can do, don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, Fma12 (talk) 21:23, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
Hello yes I agree that darkening the yellow would make it bad (not the real actual shade) and also I don't mean shadow but an outline. Basically just black borders around the yellow letters, I think that would be worth a try.
Thanks for that. I always am not exactly sure about what is legal or not when it comes to the packaging. This person has made and uploaded 18 photos of this type in total and put them on Wikipedia, click here to see them. If there is any other of these that is not allowed then you can nominate the deletions. 3marish alt (talk) 02:52, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
I don't think the new Pepsi Twist logo you made is good I'm afraid! The color is strange and the line looks visibly pixelated. Sorry I cannot help (I don't have good software to make changes) but I think for now it's better to revert until a nicer version might me made. 3marish alt (talk) 21:56, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
@3marish alt: Ok, if you can create or find a better version, please upload it as a separate file. It's my bad anyway, I should have kept the logo as it was originally uploaded and that's it. Fma12 (talk) 22:00, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Also any changes should ideally be made to File:Pepsi Twist logo from 2023.svg instead. This is SVG format which is better. But yes I cannot find a good version and I can't make one either. Is there not a place on this site to request image editing experts to do it? I think I saw it here before. 3marish alt (talk) 22:08, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Hello there is one more thing that could be interesting. On Wikipedia I have proposed to merge Pepsi Zero Sugar into Pepsi Max. Because now Max, Zero and Black are all used interchangeably. 3marish alt (talk) 00:08, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
By teh way I have put the logo File:Orbit gum brand logo.png you uploaded into Wikimedia Commons because the country is actually USA. The Orbit Wikipedia article was full of inconsistencies and unsourced but I have taken care of it. 3marish alt (talk) 23:45, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
Hi, @3marish alt: thanks for letting me know. In fact, my edits on the Orbit gum article were minimum so I don't known much about the brand (furthermore, it is not even marketed in my country) but I appreciate your effort. Fma12 (talk) 17:05, 9 October 2025 (UTC)

Warning

Hi Fma12. I noticed that a deletion request you made was not done correctly.

This is not an unusual mistake, but I'm leaving you this message to help you get this right in the future.

There are several steps to making a deletion request (DR) correctly; among other things you must transclude the deletion into the correct daily DR list, and to notify the page creator and optionally other human (non-bot) editors of the page. By far the easiest way to do all of this correctly is to use the automatic Nominate for deletion or Nominate category for discussion tool in the Tools menu on the sidebar per COM:DR#Starting requests and COM:CFD#Starting requests, which takes care of all that using vetted Javascript. If you prefer to add the {{Delete}} template or {{Category for discussion}} template manually, you are required to follow the instructions in the template, including the "Click here to show further instructions" portion (or Commons:Deletion requests/Listing a request manually policy or the "By hand" portion of COM:CFD#Starting requests, normally collapsed). Again, though, there is no need to follow complex instructions if you use the automatic tools.

Also worth knowing: on Commons, {{Delete}} is not a "speedy delete" request like it is on many other projects; instead, it starts a discussion of whether the file should be deleted. If you think a particular media file really obviously does not belong on Commons, see the instructions at Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion. Common cases that are better handled with a speedy delete than a DR include:

Common bad reasons people have for making DRs in the first place include:

  • after renaming a category, trying to delete the resulting redirect in violation of policy COM:CATRED
  • making a DR for a file where there is already a current DR
  • trying to delete one's own work within 7 days (use {{G7}} instead)
  • placing {{Delete}} on the deletion subpage itself, or on a talk page.

Also, please don't use {{Ffd}} (that's an English Wikipedia thing).

If you have further questions about the deletion process, you can ask them at COM:Help desk or COM:Village pump.  — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 21:41, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

There are two more in the same series.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 21:47, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
Hi, @Jeff G.: thanks for the suggestions. I realised that when I copied the synthax from Template:Delete, it did not contain the date, therefore it was not added into the DR template. I'll take it into account for future cases. Fma12 (talk) 21:47, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

Hola.

Errors

First off, I used rollback on this edit, which I think is not vandalism but a mistake, so pardon me. I thought this was some malfunctioning bot due to the way it was formatted. To be clear, Washington, D.C. is thousands of kilometers away from Washington (state). They are both in America, but not geographically or politically-related entities. —Justin (koavf)TCM 03:19, 11 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Koavf: , first of all, thanks for letting me know this. As a non born in the US, I do commit mistakes, p.e. thinking that Washington DC was part of that state. I just tried to put categories in order, so the amount of college sports logos is so huge that ordering them is almost mandatory. Fma12 (talk) 17:54, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
For sure. I saw what else you were doing and it was definitely helpful. It was just that one edit, as far as I saw. Gracias. —Justin (koavf)TCM 18:49, 11 November 2025 (UTC)

Imágenes del gobierno de la República Argentina

Hola, @Fma12.

Espero tu respuesta, gracias Diamond315 (talk) 18:23, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
Saludos! Fma12 (talk) 23:00, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

East Carolina

Hello, big fan of your work!

I was wondering if when you had a chance you could update the Color, White and Alternate uniforms for the East Carolina Pirates football program. Note that the team often changes jersey, helmet, and pants combo as is tradition but they do have a line up of three "established" starting uniforms.

Color

White

Alternate

Thank you for all you do! ~2026-30555-81 (talk) 19:16, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
