Russian occupation of Ukraine

Hello Uliana. That itself would be a very meticulous & time-consuming task. But by all means, I would gladly try to make it, since I was considering to do so days ago. The only thing that hampers me is time, as I only do so in my little available freetime. For Sumy & Kyivoblasts (Thanks to DinoSoupCanada), I think it already looks decent. Just needed coloring, cities, and raions. Zhytomyr needs a rework albeit a small one.

In the mean time, I recon you have contacted FanousekCZSK? He was the one that created the Donetsk, Kharkhiv, and Chernikiv oblast occupation map actually! I think he has a lot more dedication and freetime than I have haha. He's open to make the maps actually. He might even be doing it right now. Kaliper1 (talk) 14:27, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the map of the occupation of the Sumy Oblast is inaccurate, as it does not indicate the northern Raions of the Oblast as occupied. And in general, it does not match the style of other maps. I hope that someone (@Kaliper1: ) who has the means will be able to take up this matter. Sincerely, thanks for the answer!❤️

Syrian civil war

Map on Syrian civil war end

Hi @Kaliper1 How are you? Thank you so much for your work on updating the maps on the Syrian civil war! On that, I have a question / request based on the maps. Recently, there were discussions about the map issue for the civil war, and I was looking through the available ones, but some don't seem to make a lot of sense. I was looking for one that represents the situation the days of the fall of the Assad regime, but I could not find one based on ISW control (except for File:Syrian Civil War map 2.svg but they're all green so it's almost impossible to tell the groups apart). I also see there is one with ISW control and it's to the current frontlines, but based on organizations that no longer exist??

Since you have more experience in this, is it possible then to separate out an old version of an existing file (or create from scratch I guess) that shows the situation circa December 2024 with the different groups present (HTS, SNA, etc) in distinguishable colors? Something similar to this is what I'm looking for. Naming then can just be based on the date like the others, like "Syrian Civil War (December xx, 2024).svg". 'inilah.com' is the news org, it does not host any videos natively to its own site. Videos under the site are linked to its own YouTube channel, which videos are taken/sourced by the news company itself. This video in particular is under CC license by the uploader. It's not consistent then. Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Jordan are also listed in the article as with Afghanistan ('List of members') but are not on the map.

What all four of these have in common is that they are not mentioned in the article lead, nor in the infobox 'Active regions' part, strongly suggesting that these are marginal in this context. Hence a removal of Afghanistan would be smart, thanks. ~2026-13367-29 (talk) 14:28, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

Likely because it was added at a later date. If I recollect they weren't listed within the list back in 2023. With case examples such like Jordan's IS being created after this map was uploaded. You did convince me however, that the map should only entail the main members instead. Otherwise, cluttered. I'll post an update and remake the map in the meanwhile. As the creator of the image you do have a special right. Also the person who reverted it is relatively new with not so many contributions.
