This is the Group page for members of the Igbo Wikimedia Community contributing to Wikimedia Commons. Membership is open to all interested individuals at any level.

Objectives

• To promote awareness of Wikimedia Commons Projects within the user group and Nigeria as a whole.
• To promote contributions to Wikimedia Commons projects within the user group and in Nigeria by organising events and activities.
• To establish the development of Wikimedia Commons projects primarily in Igbo language and other Nigerian languages.
• To equip editors in Nigeria with the skill and ability for the continuous development of Wikimedia Commons projects.

Activities

This Group holds and support the following activities:

• Meetings: the group organises meet-ups for its members in order to exchange ideas and to find ways to support them to continue editing the projects in areas where they would need help.
• Trainings/Edit-a-thons: to help new Wikimedians learn the how-to of uploading and contributing as well as the tools available for use on Wikimedia Commons.
• Editing contests: the group also organises uploading contests to improve contributions and recruit new members.
