Celeus torquatus

Hi! Could you create a new map for Celeus torquatus? The current version shows only nominate subspecies but IOC and Birds of the World also include C. t. occidentalis and C. t. tinnunculus. Pampa curvipennis and Pampa pampa

Hello! IOC (followed by most wikis) splits Pampa pampa from Pampa curvipennis (former Campylopterus curvipennis), meanwhile not eBird neither IUCN. I suggest to preserve the existent map and create two maps, one for the northern population and one for Yucatan and south. Good maps at xeno-canto Pampa pampa and Pampa curvipennis. Bubulcus

Hello Cephas - your map File:Bubulcus map.svg needs updating, please:

• Breeds more extensively in Europe now, resident north to southern and central England
• The blue areas in southeast Asia and Australia need changing to green (breeding resident) now, as does the whole of New Zealand
• The whole of Mexico needs changing to green, and slightly further N into the southern USA

Another map correction, please

Hi Cephas - the IUCN map for Pterodroma cahow you used for this map File:Pterodroma cahow map.svg is a bit overdone on the eastern range fringes, making it look as if the species is regular on the Irish and Spanish coasts, which it is not. You can see the original research it was based on here (maps on page 555); that the eastern edge should not reach land at all, but stay a distance offshore - there are no land-based observations of the species from either Ireland or Spain, only ship-made sightings 50-100+ km offshore. Camera sensor size comparison

I saw you comparison. But they are not on "equal". If you compare to FF, you had to put APS-C to f/5.33 (so camera would do f/5.6 probably, or f/5) and focal length should be on 23.33 mm, so 23 mm on camera. In this case more light came to FF, so APS-C had biger time of exposure, so normal then to have more noise. With "correct" seting difference would not be such as shown. It doesnt matter if 60% would solve. If you compare, you must put "correct" settings. APS-C had 20% more time, normally more time means more noise. Which could be lower than showed. Thats the base of smaller sensors, it doesnt have "big" (f, ISO) values. Mile (talk) 10:43, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

Range map request for lumped green-backed becard (Pachyramphus viridis)

Hi, I've recently lumped the yellow-cheeked becard with the en:green-backed becard on English wikipedia. This follows AviList 2025 and IOC 15.2. Would you be willing to create a new range map for the combined species? The range map currently in the green-backed becard article File:Pachyramphus viridis map.svg is only for one of the four subspecies.

As a source Cornell has a suitable range map here.
