Hi Abxbay - While I appreciate all the hard work you have put into this, I have to advise that it should only contain pictures of Air Corsica aircraft. You have included pics of CCM Airlines and Spring Airlines aircraft, ie aircraft not actually operated by Air Corsica. Thus the page is inaccurate and would be disappointing for those looking for the Air Corsica fleet. Grateful if you could correct Ardfern (talk) 11:55, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

Files renamed

Hi, I've undone the renaming of two pictures I've uploaded (1; 2), because the lack of a valid reason (they does not follow any of the six cases for renaming a file). I understand your intentions were good, but informations belong to the file description, is not necessary to put it in the title of the files, which are already descriptive enough in my opinion. I restored the original names because all my uploads follow the same name scheme, that along with personal categories help me to quickly find if I already uploaded a particular picture and to not upload the same picture twice. Notice that for one of the pictures I've already undone a renaming from you the past year. Feel free to edit and add content to the files descriptions, of course. Capitalization

Category:Surnames

Hi, the Category:Surnames is a "flat-list" category (at level 0), which includes all surnames regardless of tree structure, as is declared in the top message "This category gathers all sub-categories related to its parent category in a non-hierarchical list, including those that would normally only be found via intermediate sub-categories.". It has about 120.000 members total.

I noticed that you are removing some surnames from it when you edit them and not including the hundreds of the new surnames you are creating. As I do many automatic edits with "batch" tools, it is possible that I put them in "Category:Surnames" with no intention to correct your editions--JotaCartas (talk) 01:34, 14 April 2023 (UTC)

Deleting categories

Please, when you want a category speedy-deleted, use {{SD}} instead of just blanking it. Saves a lot of admin time (gets it into an appropriate maintenance category rather than waiting till we stumble across it, and means we don't have to look at a bunch of history to work out what is going on). The most likely cases are {{SD|C1}} for bad names (which certainly should not be recreated) or {{SD|C2}} for empty categories to be deleted without prejudice against later re-creation. Much to my own surprise, {{Sd}} doesn't work; has to be {{SD}} because {{Sd}} is "Sindhi language". Also {{SD|1=empty}} doesn't actually give as clear a message as {{SD|C2}}; try them out on a sandbox page & you'll see. How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category

When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Strachey (given name). ("C1" and "C2" come from Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion). On a more general note, I see you have been creating such categories en masse for several different languages. I cannot judge about other languages, but where Greek is concerned, you obviously are guessing at what a name is, so please stop. Your categories contain a host of duplicates and false positives. Cependant, la pratique semble être partout de prendre pour clé le premier mot significatif. Voir par exemple Category:Streets in Paris by name, Category:Streets in Geneva by name (sur cette page le choix de la clé de tri est décrit). I'm not entirely sure myself. Given the perspective on the bricole, it feels more like a ground-level shot rather than one from a campanile. I also had some doubts about the tower — Santa Maria della Salute’s towers have domed roofs, while there seems to be a pointy-roofed tower visible here, which resembles those at San Giorgio Maggiore. But you definitely seem to have a deeper knowledge of these churches than I do, so I trust your judgment. Thanks for your reply

New dirty work

Hi, forgive me but not seeing babelfish on your user page I never know what language to address you in... You may have noticed that I leave you work to do from time to time, now blindly trusting in your profound knowledge of Venice and your ability to correctly frame the various orphan images; I don't know if this is more of an annoyance or a stimulus, in any case I try to do as much as I can not to burden you with too much work (which then you risk getting tired and abandoning the project, please don't do that...). I have just found a good number of pictures taken by a German-speaking user (User:Barnos) without precise Exif data, hence the date, however it generically indicates February 2025, so I slipped them into Category:February 2025 in Venice. Can you take a look at them and categorise as needed? Some images already were, others were orphaned, but having spent a good quarter of an hour this morning identifying which one was a rio, perhaps the time is better invested if you take care of it (out of trust not listlessness). Having today specifically searched for orphan images of Venice, if you'd like to have a look at the work I've done, I've sorted out some images from the Biennales, hoping they won't be deleted for copyright infringement, and from the Film Festival, of actors, actresses, directors, sometimes only roughly categorised, so your supervision would be useful and welcome. Je continue à devoir passer derrière vous pour mettre les clés de tri sur la catgories que vous crééz en masse en ce moment, Special:Diff/1097982514, Special:Diff/1097637701, et que vous oubliez 9 fois sur 10 ;
Voulez-vous que l'on discute de l'indispensabilité de la clé de tri pour ce type de catégories, a fortiori lorsqu'on en crée beaucoup dans un temps très court, du pourquoi, etc. ?

Thks for your question. explanation in french language = Want est un nom de famille porté dans le Nord-Pas-de-Calais et en Belgique, c’est le surnom d’un gantier (moyen néerlandais wante = gant). Les pires des catégories sont celles qui requièrent une surveillance constante et présentent le risque d'erreur le plus élevé, qui peuvent être incorrectes du jour au lendemain si personne n'y prête attention - i.e. ne se renseigne pas régulièrement sur la subsistance des familles - et sujettes à des modifications indésirables (revendication de subsistance, amalgames, etc.).

Incorrect categorisation of Herbert Mason

Hi. I have just undone several edits you made in 2023 that added files from the 1800s to Category:Herbert Mason (an individual who wasn't born until 1903). These included Special:diff/727034607 and Special:diff/727034648. Mistakes are bound to happen but the date of birth was visible on the category page since 2000, so I can only assume that you forgot to check it was the same person in 2023. I'd just encourage you to take a few seconds more to confirm you have a match before making an edit. As this was a few years ago, you may have improved your editing style since then.
