Pays de Brest
Bonjour,
- Bzh-99 (talk) 11:06, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

This is a deletion request for the community to discuss whether the nominated page should be kept or deleted. Please voice your opinion in the linked request above. Thank you very much!
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.
Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

- Bzh-99 (talk) 22:27, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
Autopatrol given
Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have grantedautopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Morning Sunshine (talk) 05:17, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Mamm gozh Nizon

Picture of the Year voting round 1 open
Dear Wikimedians,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:
Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.
Wikimedia Commons celebrates our featured images of 2012 with this contest. Your votes decide the Picture of the Year, so remember to vote in the first round by January 30, 2013.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

Bonjour,
Cdlt - Bzh-99 (talk) 21:48, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi, sorry for the bother - I'd like to know what's up with this pic. It got deleted last June (I'm coming back here only now after a long leave), with that comment (frm K800i): "Avez-vous une autorisation spéciale de publication pour cette image?". Wasn't that one of my own pics? I can't remember having copied anything about this river on the internet (or anywhere else for that matter). I'd need to see it to be sure. I can't even find its deletion page, to see if there was any further comment that could shed some light on this deletion. I'd b happy if you could tell me why I'd need "a special licence" for it (but I won't b offended if you don't tell me anything, if u r too busy or whatever; nothing important... I'd just like to understand a bit more about these things if poss, that's all). Best wishes for the new yr anyway:)Basicdesign (talk) 16:04, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.
Dear Wikimedians,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Comment Very good job didactic. But perspective distortion that can be corrected. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 07:34, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
Bzh-99, I've found that GIMP is a useful programme for changing perspective. It has a tool which allows you to make manual adjustments. It's worth getting some practice with it. Until then, I have straightened the image myself. How does that look? Nev1 (talk) 20:28, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
Great! (Although these changes are almost invisible) - Bzh-99 (talk) 22:53, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
I don't understand your vote. Can you explain to me? - Bzh-99 (talk) 10:56, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
Yann (talk) 14:38, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
@ Yann: Donc pourquoi voter contre? Il suffirait d'enlever un scope, non? - Bzh-99 (talk) 15:50, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
@Bzh-99: Effectivement. ;o) Yann (talk) 17:21, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
OK, fait / done! - Bzh-99 (talk) 17:45, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
Support Best in scope. Yann (talk) 18:49, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Comment Good for me. Small problem: we need a caption in English.
Bien cordialement --Pimprenel (talk) 13:32, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

- Bzh-99 (talk) 11:59, 18 October 2024 (UTC)

Congratulations! Stangala 01.jpg, which was produced by you, was reviewed and has now been promoted to Quality Image status.
Comment Scope should be changed to emphasise that this image was taken when the dam was empty. Something like "Barrage de Guerlédan during a drought" Martinvl (talk) 21:27, 31 July 2025 (UTC)

Dear Wikimedian,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2024 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year is the nineteenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2024) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and top 5% of most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

Announcing the Winners of Picture of the Year 2025!
Hi everyone,
Wikimedia Commons is pleased to finally announce the winners of this year's Picture of the Year 2025 contest! We had some truly incredible finalists to choose from, but the community has spoken.
Here are your top three winning images:
First place: The aftermath of an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City on October 9, 2023, leaving widespread destruction in the Rimal area. Attribution: WAFA (Q2915969) / CC-BY-SA 3.0
Second place: Baby cape fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus) sleeping at Cape cross, Namibia. Attribution: Giles Laurent / CC-BY-SA 4.0
Third place: A gigantic jet photographed from the International Space Station by astronaut Nichole Ayers. Attribution: public domain
You can view the full results and see where all your favorite images placed here: Full 2025 Results
I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!
