Thanks for uploading File:Coin BE 40F Leopold I rev A1.TIF. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).
Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

Hi,
there's a problem with your last uploads. The license PD-Old-100 is not correct => and these files got into the "problems category". You should use the PD-old-100 license. Fix it, please.
Have a nice day:-) Wieralee (talk) 11:39, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2017 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in R2.
Dear Guy Delsaut,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2017 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.
In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.
Thanks, the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 11:32, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
Licence pièces belges
Bonjour Delsaut,
to share – to copy, distribute and transmit the work
to remix – to adapt the work
Under the following conditions:
attribution – You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
share alike – If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same or compatible license as the original.
The RedBurn (talk) 10:56, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
@The Redburn: Pardon pour ma réponse tardive. --Delsaut (talk) 14:35, 11 December 2018 (UTC)

Autopatrol given
Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have grantedautopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. ~riley(talk) 05:10, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

Problem with your custom signature
Your account has an invalid custom signature set in the account preferences.
Look in the Signature: text box for your custom signature code. This contains the name of an account, but it's not your account. It's probably the name of another account that you used.
Change the wrong account name to your current account name.
If you have more than one account, and you are trying to link to the other account, then change at least one of the links to your current account name. For example, change Username (talk) to:
Username2 (talk) (one link to the current account's userpage, and one link to your other account's talk page), or to
Username (talk • contributions) (two links to your other account and one link to Special:Contributions for your current account).
Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
After you have done this, the error will be fixed. If the error is not fixed, then clicking the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page will produce an error.

Usage of a picture of a commemorative belgian coin
Hello Guy,
I was told that you already had conversations with the Monnaie Royale de Belgique and I would like to ask you, what the actual status is. I would like to insert a picture of this coin (see https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces73328.html) into the German Wikipedia article about the FNRS-2. I have noticed that you have uploaded a rendering of the Gold version of this coin a couple of years ago but it is my intention to insert a picture of the real coin instead. The plan was to ship the coin to a museum in Berlin so that they can take the picture and upload it like this example File:Belgien-_2015_Waterloo_-_Münzkabinett,_Berlin_-_5550032.jpg But before I do so I want to have a clarification under which conditions the Monnaie Royale de Belgique would allow this. As far as I know they would have to agree that these picture could be used under a Creative Commons Licence, to be more specific the Attribution Share a like CC-BY-SA 4.0. Please let me know your thoughts about this. Best regards Yeti-Hunter (talk) 16:35, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

2022 Picture of the Year: Saint John Church of Sohrol in Iran.
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

CDH > Les Engagés
Bonjour,
--JmH2O(talk) 09:58, 30 November 2024 (UTC)

Announcing the Winners of Picture of the Year 2025!
Hi everyone,
Wikimedia Commons is pleased to finally announce the winners of this year's Picture of the Year 2025 contest! We had some truly incredible finalists to choose from, but the community has spoken.
Here are your top three winning images:
First place: The aftermath of an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City on October 9, 2023, leaving widespread destruction in the Rimal area. Attribution: WAFA (Q2915969) / CC-BY-SA 3.0
Second place: Baby cape fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus) sleeping at Cape cross, Namibia. Attribution: Giles Laurent / CC-BY-SA 4.0
Third place: A gigantic jet photographed from the International Space Station by astronaut Nichole Ayers. Attribution: public domain
You can view the full results and see where all your favorite images placed here: Full 2025 Results
I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!
