Tip: Categorizing images

Hello, Pavouk!

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Carpathians map translation

I know, but I must make a small "shift" in labels, some are (in Czech) out of map. Please, could you change in English version labels: Malé Karpaty and Veľká Fatra? Both mountains are not so big. Can you update the maps File:High Speed Rail Turkey.PNG, File:Rail transport map of Turkey.png, File:Rail transport map of Turkey-m.png, File:YHT Service (2021).png, File:YHT Turkey 1741x733.png, File:Networks of Major High Speed Rail Operators in Europe.gif, File:High Speed Railroad Map of Europe.svg and File:Western Asia HSR.svg? The Konya-Karaman high speed rail line was opened on 8 January 2022. (The average speed for high speed rails in Turkey is 250 km/h.)

Can you remove Norway in:

• Update it as an ambiguous state in File:Map of secular states.svg

On 21 May 2012, the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) passed a constitutional amendment that changed the role of the Church of Norway in the Constitution of Norway by dropping it as a state religion. Previously, the Constitution of Norway stated that “the Evangelical-Lutheran religion shall remain the official religion of the State”; the amendment replaced this wording with a provision that the state’s values are based on Christian and humanist heritage and emphasized democracy, human rights, and the rule of law instead. There is no reference to secularism, describes Christianity as one if its values (but not as a "Christian state"), and states that the King of Norway has to be a member of the Lutheran Church, in the Constitution of Norway, thus not meeting the criteria of a secular state like France, China or Singapore, but is ambiguous. Can you remove Bangladesh in:

For Bangladesh there is constitutional ambiguity whether Bangladesh is a secular country or an Islamic country. In 2010, the high court of Bangladesh reinstated secularism as a part of the Bangladesh constitution after terming the 1977 constitutional amendment done by then Bangladesh President w:Ziaur Rahman as illegal. Link 1 Political leaders and experts have expressed uncertainty if Bangladesh is a secular state or an Islamic state. Link 2 Bangladesh regime changes often advocate for different type of religious freedom as in secularism or pluarism. Link 3

Can you add Zambia in:

Argentina has no state religion. It declares the support of the federal government for "the Roman Catholic Apostolic faith," but the Supreme Court has ruled that it is not an official or state religion. Link 1

Can you remove the breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) which collapsed in 2023 and which is de jure in Azerbaijan in:

Thank you for the reply. Anyone is free to edit/update these files, where licenses indicate this in the file text. Unfortunately, I lack the knowledge in editing SVG files and complex PNG files, hence why I asked you. Would you be willing to update these files? Kurcke (talk) 16:04, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
