Wikimedia Commons is pleased to finally announce the winners of this year's Picture of the Year 2025 contest! We had some truly incredible finalists to choose from, but the community has spoken.
Here are your top three winning images:

I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!

endlich melde ich mich mal; - auch bei mir arbeitet die Gesundheit "suboptimal", wie es so schön heißt. Etwas aus der Fotowerkstatt: Ralf, gefiel es wohl nicht mehr, es wurde leider so archiviert. Ich fand schon, dass das Bild besser ist, nur die Frontscheibe sieht leider etwas nach Nothammer-Einschlag aus. Du hast mal ganz exakt eine KTM bearbeitet ... Geht das noch bzw. hier etwas Ähnliches? Hallo Wikisympathisant, der Eindruck von einer mit Nothammer bearbeiteten Scheibe besteht bei dem Foto tatsächlich. Aber wie soll man etwas anderes dahinzaubern? Das Bild war alles in allem ein schwieriger Fall, um etwas Brauchbares daraus zu machen. Was Du mit KTM meinst, weiß ich nicht; das müsstest Du mir genauer sagen. Danke für Deine schnelle Antwort und die guten Wünsche . - ich sag's mal in Werkstattsprache: gern die Scheibe vom Original-Bild einbauen, jedenfalls so dachte ich's mir (bei einer KTM hasst du quasi damals auch "gepuzzelt"). Die aktuelle GIMP-Version, die für meinen PC passt, verschlechtert leider formal die Auflösung, eine ältere Version bekomme ich nicht auf meinen neuen Mini-PC geladen, - nicht aufgrund des PCs, sondern weil sie bei GIMP nicht mehr zu bekommen ist:-( ) Grüße an den Rhein, Wikisympathisant (talk) 18:42, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
