Seabee logo
Are you the original poster of this Seabee logo? If so, I would like to discuss the authenticity or lack of it with you. Gordojr88 (talk) 19:38, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Gordojr88: Not sure which image you are referring to. Doing a search, a long time ago I uploaded File:USN-Seabees-Insignia.svg, which was pulled from a U.S. Navy publication (not my drawing). Was that the one you are wondering about? Carl Lindberg (talk) 21:59, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- Yes sir. That's the one. I understand that is might not have been your original and you pulled it from an "unofficial" publication. My issue is that it is now virtually EVERYWHERE on the internet as THE logo for the Seabees and it isn't even close to accurate. The rating badges on the sleeves are not even accurate for any branch of the service, especially the Navy. This one is a more appropriate image https://www.history.navy.mil/content/history/museums/seabee/explore/online-reading-room/seabee-faqs/seabee-insignia/_jcr_content/body/media_asset/image.img.jpg/1642098939495.jpg. Or this is the one more widely accepted...https://www.seabee.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Untitled-design.png ~2026-17139-63 (talk) 22:16, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2025 voting is open!

Dear Wikimedian,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2025 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year is the twentieth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favourite images featured on Commons during the last year (2025) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the top 5% of most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just five images to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 1 will end on UTC.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee
