Road crossing by parallel railways

I originally posted this on the Template:Railway line legend page, so this may not fit this page exactly, but some of these never show up, as far as I can tell. After thorough research, the only place using the horsecar icon is the Disneyland Horsecar. However, there is NO list of draisine systems, so is there any rail line that uses it? Also, I'm doing a list of these symbols with examples, so if anyone can tell me a way to find Wikipedia articles with certain icons, that would be amazing. Daylighted tunnels, among other things, are hard to find. This would be very helpful, so if there is any way to do this, please tell me. AtTheTownHouse (talk) 23:25, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

3 different icons for car-trains?

There are 3 icons all for trains that carry cars, one of them unused. Is there a reason to keep them separate, or should they be merged?

  (Autoverlad) - unused

  (CARSHUTTLE) - mostly European, just a mix of two icons. (Count: 13)

  (MOTORAIL) - Only used for United States railways, except for one line in Baden-Württemberg. (Count: 8)

Can we get this sorted out? I think MOTORAIL.svg is very useful, but Autoverlad.svg could also see some more use, although it is a bit hard to tell what it is when small. If we remove just one, I prefer CARSHUTTLE be removed. It looks ambiguous, and is a little unoriginal, making it hard to distinguish. AtTheTownHouse (talk) 02:42, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

Help with creating routemap for Nile river?

Hi. I'm working on the Nile river article in the English WP article at: en:Nile. I'd like to add a route map. But I'm having a difficult time creating a route map. I've looked at the map in the Amazon river article: en:Template:Amazon River routemap but I'm not able to get the job done. I've been able to find all the icons/symbols I need (lakes, dams, source, etc) but the branching & horizontal alignment is giving me real problems. Can someone create the routmap for me? I can provide a hand-drawn sketch will all the lakes and branches. The routemap would not be huge. I think it will have about:

  • 8 lakes
  • 7 dams (with reservoirs)
  • 3 waterfalls
  • 5 tributaries
  • 2 sources
  • 1 outflow/estuary/delta

The map does not need the dozens of bridges & locks I've seen in some canal routemaps. I think it would only be about 1/4 or 1/3 the complexity of the Amazon river routemap (en:Template:Amazon River routemap. I've looked at foreign language WP articles, and I cannot find any routemap for the Nile river. So this would be the first one, and it could be inserted into articles in many languages. Auto-width for text?

Is there a way to set a whole template to a maximum width? I'd like to reduce the width of the one for the Walhalla railway line by about a third, auto-forcing the text to wrap instead of manually inserting line breaks through trial and error. The goal is to have the template at about 300px wide, to match the header image in its article. Anothersignalman (talk) 17:56, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

Variable objects displayed?

Is it possible to set a line diagram to, by default, show everything but include a menu that will filter to exclude, say, level crossings or certain stations? That could be useful as a way to optionally indicate safe-working sections or other features. Anothersignalman (talk) 18:04, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

Adding to a local wiki

I want to implement the BSIcon software on a different wiki (like a local non-WMF wiki). Any assistance in doing this? Soviet Pepega (talk) 16:53, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

The icons File:BSicon_exFIGHTER.svg and File:BSicon_FIGHTER.svg are among the many fighter jet icons based on theis CC-SA image from 2013 Fighter_jet_red_icon.svg|32 by MakiSumo34 - but have been erroneously given CC0 licenses - losing the CC-SA licenses from the original Fighter jet icon set by MakiSumo34. I presume it's due to misunderstanding around Alike license compatibility.

Most of the derivatives of the original can be found in Category:SVG airplane icons but some are in use on other wikis. Most derivations also incorrectly use the CC0 license only, a few are derivatives of derivatives without attribution to original creator MakiSumo33.

I presume there should be a bulk task to alter the incorrect licenses on similar files (there's 22+) - where do I ask? I also don't want to edit the BSicon set.
