Re: Strange formatting

Any help with the formatting would be greatly appreciated, I absolutely can't understand why a few pages look OK but most become broken, even though i copy the code directly... =(

Concerning the author, it should be Andreas Nilsson but I've just been too lazy to learn how to change it, and was under the impression that the credit line code sorted that out.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Dear Paracel63,

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

• In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
• In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:

1. 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
2. In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
3. In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

Hej! Tack för att du hörde av dig. Okategoriserade eller rödkategoriserade Commons-filer ser ut som ett misstag, och sådana länkar ändrar jag när jag upptäcker dem. Jag visste inte om din strategi. Har du förankrat den strategin med andra Commons-användare, så att du kan arbeta ostört med "dina" filer under tiden? Under 12 timmar hinner mycket hända, och en sådan tidsymd är exempelvis betydligt längre än den som förutses via Pågående-mallen på svwp. Allt gott.--Paracel63 (talk) 16:38, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

Med tanke på alla tusen filer som är okategoriserade, och att mallen "okategoriserad fil" tas bort när jag lägger till en röd kategori, så brukar dessa filer inte upptäckas innan jag skapat kategorin, eller en kategori-omdirigering. :) (t) Josve05a (c) 16:45, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

@Patrick Rogel: Hi! Thanks for the info. Maybe you have seen the info on the file presentation page? It includes the name "Martin Nordström", the mention that I got it from the photographer, the {{OTRSpending}} template and Metadata explaining that Martin Nordström has licensed this very photo under a CC BY-SA 4.0 license. The OTRS ticket has been received and carries the tag "Ticket#2018041710012371". As I'm bound by the secrecy of being an OTRS volunteer, I cannot present more information on the matter. And being the uploader of the photo, I morally do not feel that I should process this ticket by myself. But maybe you can? Feel free to ask for more clarity on the issue. To upload videos without audio

Hi! I noticed your file File:Concert Maria Coma a Valldoreix (sense so).webm. I guess you muted it by yourself? It's actually possible with video2commons by unselecting keep audio.--Roy17 (talk) 12:27, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

@Jeff G.: Yes…? That one file belongs to a deletion discussion from July of 2019. I hope you've read my comment to the deletion enquiry: link. I did not upload that photo, nor the others belonging to that deletion discussion. From my reckoning I may have tagged those photos with deletion tags. Do you have another, more recent example? File importer

Hello, did you know that you can use the File Importer extension to move files from Wikipedias to Commons? That way all the information and also edit history of the file are imported with it. You uploaded this file by uploading it yourself, and it lacks some information that is present in the original file (such as the description in Finnish and the mention that there is no audio). I haven't tried importing .ogg files, but I would think it works the same as with images. The export link should be next to the History tab on the file page. @Kyykaarme: Thanks for the tip. My knowledge of Finnish is very scarce, so I might even have failed to recognize other things on the fiwp file presentation page. Now I see "Vie Wikimedia Commonsiin". The Finnish presentation text has been copied, as has the note about missing sound. If there are other things missing, feel free to add them to the presentation page at Commons. Yup, "Vie Wikimedia Commonsiin" is the one. Thanks for adding the info! We have local uploading, because Finnish copyright law has a clause similar to the American "fair use", so we upload images of copyrighted artwork etc. based on that. -kyykaarme (talk) 19:26, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
