This is Arjoopy from Thuringia between Jena and Ilmenau. Registered here since June 2013 and considerably active since July 2019. My focus is regional photography in central Germany for documentation purposes; especially villages and landscape. Besides here on Commons I am also an active user of Wikidata, creating and maintaining geographical items and linking them, where applicable, to their respective Commons categories.

Current projects

Thüringenfotos

Thüringenfotos is a project established by Michael Köhler & Gabriele Köhler in the 1980's to document the decay of villages in eastern Germany under the GDR regime. After the Peaceful Revolution and the fall of the wall, some of these villages had been lovely restored, whilst other ones are left to decay until this day. However, the situation in many of those villages have completely changed over the past years, making these photographs unique witnesses of a bygone era.
