Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

In merito alla foto File:Pedemonte-old.jpg, nella didascalia c'è scritto che è del 1800, in realtà probabilmente è la stessa File:Pedemonte1959.jpg solo "mascherata" se vedi bene c'è sia la strada che la chiesa che le altre case, forse è il caso di cambiare la didascalia. --ZioNicco (talk) 20:39, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

Ipotiroidismo

Ciao Adert, se hai tempo potresti verificare se l'immagine File:Ipotiroidismo.svg è corretta ? Credo sia la traduzione di una versione inglese non aggiornata. Leggendo l'articolo in italiano si parla di Aumento di peso, mentre l'immagine dice Perdita di peso. @Syrio Ciao! Ho aggiunto le coordinate dello scatto della chiesetta alla descrizione dell'immagine. Tormenighe so dove si trova e potrei anche provare a cercare questa chiesa di cui ignoro l'esistenza (forse già oggi pomeriggio potrei provare a fare un giro, ma non ne sono certo né di riuscirci né di trovarla!). San Giuseppe a Palazzo proprio non la conosco, ma potrei cercare su alcune mappe dove sono segnate anche le più piccole località, magari la trovo! Adert (talk) 08:06, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Anche quest’anno torna Wiki Loves Monuments: da oggi al 30 settembre puoi partecipare caricando le tue foto per contribuire a illustrare il patrimonio culturale italiano: vai sul sito wikilovesmonuments.it e scopri come fare!

Oltre ai 20.000 monumenti già in concorso, quest’anno si aggiungono più di 60.000 edifici religiosi, tema centrale di quest’edizione. Prendi la tua macchina fotografica, o il tuo smartphone, e individua i monumenti in concorso tramite la nuova web-app – disponibile sia da mobile che desktop – app.wikilovesmonuments.it, da cui potrai anche caricare direttamente i tuoi scatti. Sono ammesse anche foto scattate prima del concorso, purché siano inedite.

A livello nazionale verranno premiate le dieci migliori fotografie: cinque per gli edifici religiosi e cinque per le altre categorie di monumenti; queste immagini parteciperanno anche alla fase internazionale del concorso. Non sono ammesse immagini con watermark o cornici, né fotografie eccessivamente elaborate in postproduzione. Join the first national Wiki Science Competition 2025 in India from 1 Nov to 15 Dec

You are receiving this message as you have previously participated in one of the Wiki Loves X campaigns or are an active Wikimedia Commons contributor.

We’re excited to announce that the Wiki Science Competition 2025 in India is being organized for the very first time at a national level. This global campaign celebrates science through freely licensed images, videos, and other media on Wikimedia Commons. By participating, you help make science more visible, accessible, and inspiring to people everywhere.

The competition features eight exciting categories:

1. People in Science
2. Microscopy
3. Astronomy
4. Everyday Science
5. Scientific Equipment
6. Chemistry
7. Physics
8. Special Category

Campaign Duration: The competition will run from 1 November to 15 December 2025. You can upload your images anytime during this period.

Images taken before 1 November 2025 are also eligible, as long as they have never been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons before.

We’re excited to introduce the first-ever dedicated "Mobile Photography" participation option. Now, you can upload photographs taken with your mobile phone directly through a special upload wizard.
