How to ask for category deletion

You deleted your question on the Help desk before I could say how best to ask for something like this in the future. Please use {{SD|C1}} to get an empty, poorly named category deleted; see Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion for why that is "C1". (I don't love these cryptic parameters, but they are what someone built.) - Jmabel ! talk 22:05, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

Thank you @Jmabel: . In the days of the Lua module we should be able to just have a delete template with a reason parameter that gets automatically handled correctly (e.g. listed in the correct list depending on if its a file or a category etc). Polygnotus (talk) 23:20, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
I've never really looked into how it categorizes. It certainly changes the display of the template based on the criterion chosen, expanding the criterion into text (which can be viewed in any of a number of languages). Speaking as an admin, I'm not sure it's important to categorize different speedy deletion requests differently: if you are processing speedy deletions, you tend to blast through them just the same; I don't think it would be any easier to look only at the ones with a particular rationale. - Jmabel ! talk 23:37, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

Autopatrol given

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Abzeronow (talk) 18:49, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Excrements

Do you have File:Poop icon.png in Inkscape or other program as SVG? Then you should upload SVG. Taylor 49 (talk) 17:16, 24 April 2025 (UTC)

@Taylor 49 See File:Poop_icon.png Polygnotus (talk) 17:49, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
It's not SVG. Taylor 49 (talk) 17:50, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
@Taylor 49 Sorry I can't read. Maybe the creator, User:Thibdx, has the original SVG but I do not. Polygnotus (talk) 17:51, 24 April 2025 (UTC)

Warning sign
This media was probably deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Jennifer Geerlings-Simons.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Jennifer Geerlings-Simons.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Re: SignBot‬

Hi Polygnotus, thanks for your report. {{Bots}} template should be placed in your user page or usertalk page. Stang 01:21, 7 July 2025 (UTC)

In the future please use the {{Wikipedia screenshot|en|logo=no}} template for Wikipedia screenshots. Change the second and third parameter accordingly Trade (talk) 22:51, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

@Trade Thank you! I will try to remember but my brain is like the moth-eaten tapestry of a dying octopus. Polygnotus (talk) 22:56, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
