Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Autopatrol given

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Abzeronow (talk) 17:24, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
User:Rasitha nellickal
Can you at all explain what you saw as inappropriate about the content of User:Rasitha nellickal? Looks fine to me, both at the time you tagged it, and now. - Jmabel ! talk 14:53, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Jmabel, what I've seen is that the user page was used as a website or the content was promotional in tone (I haven't looked at it yet). ToadetteEdit (talk) 11:43, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- It's a little promotional, but nothing out of line in my view. She runs organizations and a business related to plants; her postings are mostly horticultural. I don't see anything wrong with here saying, basically, that she's posting stuff related to what she does professionally and here's a brief thing about her business. My own page also mentions some similar things related to my own professional work, though inter alia in my case. I don't think there is or was anything excessive here for someone who seems to be contributing fairly well with content related to her work. - Jmabel ! talk 14:37, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
Global abusefilter
Hello ToadetteEdit, I noticed you are commenting on abusefilter reports if they trip global abusefilters. I apprecitate the effort, and would like to know how you are checking the global filters, so I can be better informed when dealing with reports. (also, do you have a preferred way to refer to you other than your full username?) All the Best -- Chuck Talk 23:34, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
Welcome, Dear Patroller!

Hi ToadetteEdit,
You now have the Patroller right and may call yourself a patroller! Please take a moment to read the updated Commons:Patrol to learn how Patrolling works and how we use it to fight vandalism.
As you know already, the patrolling functionality is enabled for all edits, not just for new-page creations. This enables us to keep track of, for example, edits made by anonymous users here on Commons.
We could use your help at the Counter Vandalism Unit. For example by patrolling an Anonymous-edits checklist and checking a day-part.
If you have any questions please leave a message on the CVU talkpage or ask for help on IRC in #wikimedia-commons. Regards, Aafi (talk) 17:42, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Information on temporary account IP viewer rights
Hello ToadetteEdit,
On November 12, temporary accounts will be enabled on Commons. The IP of unregistered users will then be hidden for most users. You, as a patroller or license reviewer, are eligible to request the new temporary account IP viewer right, if you need it to continue fighting vandalism and abuse on Commons. If you want to request the right, please file the request here. Please be aware that you also have to accept the Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy in your preferences. For more information about temporary accounts, look at the project page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:34, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
