Deutsch: Torgau ist eine Kleinstadt an der Elbe im Nordwesten von Sachsen, Deutschland. Die Stadt ist bekannt für das Treffen der von Westen kommenden amerikanischen und der von Osten kommenden sowjetischen Truppen am Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges am 25. April 1945. Die Stadt ist Kreisstadt des Landkreises Nordsachsen.
English: Torgau is a town on the banks of the Elbe in northwestern Saxony, Germany. The town is most well-known as the place where during the Second World War, United States Army forces coming from the west met with forces of the Soviet Union coming from the east during the invasion of Germany on April 25, 1945. Katharina von Bora, the wife of Martin Luther is buried in St. Marien, Torgau.
Français : Torgau est une ville sur la rive de l'Elbe dans le nord-ouest de la Saxe, Allemagne qui est devenue célèbre dans le monde entier à la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale pour la raison suivante: le 25 avril 1945, l'armée américaine, venant de l'ouest, et les troupes soviétique, venant de l'est, y ont fait leurs jonctions. Elle est le chef-lieu de l'Arrondissement de Saxe-du-Nord.
