Heya
Hey sorry for the commercial dispute thing, are u sure we should delete the commercial until we have evidence from like a master tape? Just wondering, i know many commercials pre-December 1981 are undenibly in the public domain cause of no notice and any other work i posted is in the public domain due to renewal failures.
I uploaded Doug's commercial cause many other 1980s commercials are on Wikisource and i was a bit confused on his status. ZigZagTheTigerSkunk (talk) 02:50, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I think US copyright of that era is one of the most confusing (legally) and difficult to diagnose (finding evidence). I don't have any further information unfortunately. DMacks (talk) 08:11, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- i mean, it does say on other sites such as this Copyright Term and the Public Domain - Copyright Services - LibGuides at Cornell University That works with no notice and no registration within 5 years can become public domain before 1989 ZigZagTheTigerSkunk (talk) 08:20, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I know that. We even have that chart here on Commons: COM:HIRTLE. DMacks (talk) 08:40, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah,
- I'll try to maybe in the future try to find a expert TV archivist to help with this research on Post-1981 tv ads. ZigZagTheTigerSkunk (talk) 10:38, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

Commons:Redirected file:Map Kanchanaburi Protected Areas.svg
Hello,
At my request, the old file:Kanchanaburi Protected Areas.svg (August 17, 2025) has been redirected to file:Map Kanchanaburi Protected Areas.svg (August 18 2025).
Yesterday (September 6, 2025) I changed the numbering (natural numbering) of this redirected file and the accompanying text in my sandbox User:SietsL/START.
The accompanying modified text is displayed, but the unchanged file is also displayed.
In this case, please help me again.
Thank you for your cooperation.

A few questions of mine about finding copyright information
Hello, I saw the messages you left on my talk page (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Randomuser335S) regarding two photographs relating to John Gacy Wayne that I've uploaded. Both of those photographs were borrowed from newspaper archived websites, which I added in the descriptions. With one of those photographs, the photographer had died in 2022 according to his colleague memorializing him in his blog.
The other photograph was borrowed from a 1980 Pittsburg Press article, which gave no names of authors or photographers. One issue with the Pittsburg Press is that it closed down in the 90s. If the wikipedia page is to believed, its remaining assets were purchased and absorbed by the Pittsburg Post-Gazette in 2011. Another version of the "Piest relatives at Gacy trial" photograph was used by a 1980 Noblesville Ledger article published on the same day. Like the Pittsburg Press article, the Noblesville Ledger article gave no names of authors or photographers beyond crediting the UPI photo agency. I'm not certain if the photograph is under the Pittsburg Press, Noblesville Ledger, or the UPI copyright, and the name of its photographer is completely lost to me.
Although my rough assumptions are that the copyright holders are the Chicago Tribune and UPI photos respectively, what should I do if I cannot find the copyright information or the holders are simply too inaccessible for me to reach? Randomuser335S (talk) 18:48, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
Category:Point Street Bridge (1972)
Hi! Thanks for creating the subject category, but I believe you meant to create Point Street Bridge (1927)! Let me know if you want me to rename it and recategorize the items.
Also, do you think it's worthwhile to rename File:Point Street Bridge (1872), Providence, RI.jpg to 1907? At the time of the upload, it would have been the only item in a 1907-year category for the bridge. Therefore, I put it in the 1872-year category, as those two bridges were very similar. - Yikes, thanks for catching that year typo! I handled the cat-move and associated cat tags.
- I do support fixing the year in that other filename. Rhode Island College's information about this item says it's from 1911. DMacks (talk) 05:42, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
