Fictional military

I have reverted two of your changes from 2024 that claimed an fictional Icelandic military. These changes where also manual reverts of my changes. There is no Icelandic military and you are hereby asked to stop making any statements that claim otherwise. I already have reports from three local individuals feeling hurt by any mention of an Icelandic army. File:An Officer and a Gentleman (4408402595).jpg is actually an coastal guard and File:IADSRADAR.jpg was built by the USA army and has been run by a civil governmental agency for decades. @Snævar: The category was renamed as a result of Commons:Categories for discussion/2024/09/Category:Defence of Iceland nearly two years ago. I personally do not care for what terms is used, I was simply following through with the consensus reached there. Cases like this are won with arguments. Reverting when there is an thread on the subject is not wise. Right now this is about the categorization of the two files. That wether an category should exist and whether an image should be in it is not the same discussion. You still need to prove that the two images are images of "Military of Iceland".

To continue on my previous comment, the three people are users at en:Talk:Military of Iceland#Title and en:Talk:Military of Iceland#Requested move 6 December 2021.

https://www.lhg.is/2018/06/15/forseti-islands-ferdast-med-vardskipi-til-hrafnseyrar/ has a photo of an Icelandic coast guard man. The embroidery on his sleeve is the same as on the commons image, and the logo has been updated since, plus the logo on the web image is on the hat. The website is the offical site of the Icelandic coast guard.

This is not a matter of me proving anything to you, you made a claim against me and as such it is your duty to prove that I am wrong beyond reasonable doubt. You are doing a bad job at doing that. Snævar (talk) 12:22, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

@Snævar: Where did I revert something? I'd love to see a diff of this supposed action. Did you even attempt to look at the CFD I linked above? All files were procedurally moved to Category:Military of Iceland once it was renamed. If you think the category should be renamed back to Category:Defence of Iceland, then you need to start a new discussion as I mentioned above. If the files you linked are categorized incorrectly, then address the issue through editing. Surely these concepts can't be that difficult to grasp. ✗plicit 02:08, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
