Wiki Loves Folklore is an annual photography competition that has been taking place since 2019. The competition has been organized in 168 countries so far, attracting around 6400 photographers who have collectively submitted approximately 80,000 photographs. Project Korikath is the organizer of Wiki Loves Folklore Bangladesh 2025.

Wikimedia Commons is pleased to finally announce the winners of this year's Picture of the Year 2025 contest! We had some truly incredible finalists to choose from, but the community has spoken.
Here are your top three winning images:

I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who voted, helped organize, and generally made the contest such a huge success this year!
You marked the file as a copyright violation without a reason, then proceeded to remove the tag because "As this is an astronomical event two photos can match", and then readded the tag again? Either explain your reasoning and provide a link or your edits will be reverted again. I have reserve searched the image with Google Lens and found no exact lookalike. Hi R1F4T, I noticed you added the design for Wiki Loves Earth 2026 in Bangladesh on Commons:Wiki Loves Earth 2026/CentralNotice. The Wikimedia Foundation has set as rule that it is not allowed to use full scale images in banners as that would put a too heavy load on the internet traffic for Wikimedia and users. In your banner you can keep the design, but you need to modify it in such way that the images use one of the common thumbnail sizes. Also the text size seems too small. Please make the changes, otherwise it may take some more time before I can start the banner for Bangladesh. Thank you! Romaine (talk) 01:11, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
