• @BevinKacon: Thank you for letting me know. Would you mind explain it further? I checked both Commons:Licensing and Commons:Multi-licensing and did not find any clue about "extraneous" or "confusing" license terms. Typically those icons are used in a group chat in the Telegram messenger app, and if they were to attribute me / share-alike, the only way they'd do that is to put the copyright info in a pinned message or the group description (which has a word count limit). So I'm like, nah, they are my Wikipedian fellows, whatever, let's not take these too seriously. So I wanted a license between ccbysa4.0 and PD, and the list you conveniently provided above is the outcome. Think of it as something similar to the beerware license. Besides, all the artworks above are already presumably-irrevocably published under their corresponding license. Updating those license term might result in some unpredictable fashion (unless I make them more free -- which I don't want to do). Help / request about CMYK

Hi 痛,

I sometimes edit in COM:GL/ILL, and I saw you're using Illustrator.

For a new SVG edit, I need some CMYK values to be converted to approximate RGB ones.

I tried with Scribus, but sometimes get weird values.

I've five colors to convert, and I will be grateful if your could make this work to compare with my values.

In case you agree, I give you the CMYK colors:

1. 0, 91, 76, 6
2. 60, 0, 40, 40
3. 0, 40, 80, 0
4. 60, 0, 80, 20
5. 100, 72 0, 18.5

with a standard SWOP coated paper (and, if I abuse, uncoated one)

Could you please replace the Crown in these two files with another version of Tudor Crown? The Crown currently used is modeled on the version on Royal Cypher, but someone has previously suggested that there may be copyright issues, so I would like to ask you to use the Tudor Crown replaced with another version. At the same time, it is unlikely that a flag in normal use will have this kind of reflection. At the same time, the current document uses the 2022 version of the Tudor Crown, which lacks certain elements in its coat of arms compared to the 1901 version, and its emblem is unlikely to have this kind of reflection. Hello, I wanted to ask what the situation is now with the edits and requests from Tendooom on the Illustration Workshop. Is he officially blocked somewhere else now? If so, I would take that as a reason to remove his requests.

Aircraft category templates

I saw that you recently created Template:Individual aircraft without Wikidata item and Template:Aircraft category categories. While I appreciate the effort, these templates appear to be creating more problems than they solve. They're effectively locking categorization systems of multiple types into a single new format when many of the affected aircraft types either already have established systems (such as the Cessna 172) or are in desperate need of a categorization system rework (such as Piper PA-28). For example, categories on the Piper PA-28-151 Cherokee Warrior were incorrectly named without "Cherokee" ("Cherokee" was dropped from the offshoot PA-28 variants in 1979, after the PA-28 was discontinued). When I tried to fix them, your templates made it hard because I could not use Cat-a-lot and the template took way too long for the subcategories to appear in their parent categories due to technical limitations with Wikimedia servers work. On the other hand, categories for the Cessna 172 have been pretty well established with no major naming errors, but they use a different format than your templates allow. For example, your template adds Category:N1452U (aircraft) to Cessna 172M (sn 17267119), which does not follow the established format for Cessna construction numbers. Cessna construction number categories follow the following format; "Cessna 172 (cn xxxxxxxx)" (for example, Category:Cessna 172 (cn 17263467)) without a variant letter and with "cn" for "construction number" rather than "sn" for "serial number".

Once again, I appreciate your effort, but I think you're trying to do a bit too much with a single template. Categorization templates should ideally be limited in scope and/or highly flexible. For example, I've been creating templates such as Template:Aircraft reg N to add baseline and national registration parent categories to individual aircraft registration categories. I recognized that "aircraft type by registration" categories use varying naming formats that may change, so I excluded them from the scope.

My advice is to not even mess with aircraft types/variants in categorization templates unless said template is limited to that specific type. If you do make a template for a specific type, also make sure its subcategories are well defined and consistently named/applied. Excessive use of templates to add categories that are likely to be moved only makes it harder to fix the issues with said categories. ZLEA ^TǀC 18:04, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

The more I look at it, the more I think Template:Individual aircraft without Wikidata item needs to be scrapped entirely. I hate to say that, but as I said, you're trying to do too much at the same time with it and it severely lacks flexibility. I don't believe it can be fixed because the problem is mostly in its unreasonably wide scope rather than its design. You can't possibly account for every single variant of every type in the way you're trying to do, nor can you account for the different established naming formats of their subcategories without individually defining them. While I think Template:Aircraft category categories can be reworked to fix its issues, I cannot say the same for Template:Individual aircraft without Wikidata item. - ZLEA ^TǀC 18:33, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

On second thought, I think it can be fixed. Template:Individual aircraft does not add any topical categories to the pages it is transcluded to. Therefore, I think all the problems with Template:Individual aircraft without Wikidata item can be fixed by removing the categorization feature to bring it more in line with the intended use of the former. - ZLEA ^TǀC 19:04, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

@Candidyeoman55: Autotraced files rarely work. When I respond to requests on Graphic Labs, I use autotrace only if the original image is very "pictorial" and not geometric (example), or if the original image is a signature. On rare occasions, autotrace might work if the original image is high resolution and monochromatic. The rest of them only yield good results when manually redrawn, and that tend to take up a lot of time — multiple hours, depending on the complexity. This year is the twentieth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
