File:BA-Des.svg and File:AA-Des.svg
Hello Carnby.
In File:BA-Des.svg and File:AA-Des.svg, can you add the border of South Sudan? The maps were also updated after South Sudan became independent in July 2011 and are used in Wikipedia.
Yours sincerely, Orattas (talk) 12:56, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for the updates. They are all right.
File:World metrication.svg and File:SI-metrication-world.png
Hello Carnby.
Can you update File:World metrication.svg and in its duplicate File:SI-metrication-world.png by coloring all the remaining countries, which are still shown in gray?
The other metrication maps show the chronological metrication of countries.
Yours sincerely, Orattas (talk) 08:39, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

Done-- Carnby (talk) 23:05, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for the updates. Can you also color Belize in yellow in File:Metrication.svg, because that country is still partially metric? Orattas (talk) 06:29, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for all the updates. One last request and I won't bother you for a very long time:
- Can you color Lebanon in gray in File:Rail gauge world with legend.svg, because Rail transport in Lebanon ceased to exist with the start of the Lebanese Civil War and its railway tracks and almost all train stations have been destroyed. That its infrastructure is destroyed is referenced in the Wikipedia article.
- Can you also add South Sudan in File:WANO Members.PNG and File:People's Republics.png? Orattas (talk) 14:23, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
- Orattas (talk) 14:23, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
Done as far as File:Rail gauge world with legend.svg and File:WANO_Members.PNG are concerned; for File:People's_Republics.png I need a bit more time.-- Carnby (talk) 19:51, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

Update request
Hello, Carnby.
Can you add the border of South Sudan, which became independent in 2011, in File:Nothofagus Distribution.svg, File:Cypron-Range Panthera onca.svg, File:ITCZ january-july.png, File:BSEC Map.png and File:Borderless countries.PNG?
Can you update File:Burka ban world map.svg by coloring Kyrgyzstan in dark red? On 1 February 2025, Kyrgyzstan has fully banned the wearing of the face veil (burka and nikab) in public.
Can you also color Turkmenistan in dark red (also in File:Full-face veils ban in Europe.svg where it appears in the bottom right corner), because it bans the wearing of any Islamic headgear and clothing in public?
Can you color Kazakhstan in purple, because it bans the wearing of religious headgear and clothing in schools, which definitely includes the face veil (burka and nikab)?

Can you either rename or remove the Commonwealth realms – the former British colonies which are now fully independent and have the British monarch as their head of state – in File:British possessions (2022–present).svg? That is why the Commonwealth realms are not British possesions, unlike the autonomous British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies.

- Hello. You should talk to The wisest fool in Christendom for File:British possessions (2022–present).svg, since that user requested the map on the basis of a UK legal concept.

Clownfish map
Hello would you be able to create a range map for clownfish based on figure 1 of this article. (you can download the PDF). I requested it at Map workshop but its going too slow. Here's the old one File:Amphiprioninae distribution map-blank.svg for reference in terms of were the map is positioned. LittleJerry (talk) 21:36, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Correction request
Hello, Carnby.
In File:Colonial Map Of Africa in 1930.png, can you make corrections? In 1930, Botswana (Bechuanaland Protectorate), Lesotho (Basutoland), Eswatini (Swaziland Protectorate), and Namibia (South West Africa), were not de jure or de facto independent. The first three listed countries were British protectorates or colonies, and the latter was a South African mandate. The first three need to be colored in pink for Britain, and Namibia needs to have a pastel color of its own tied to South Africa, which ruled it.
See for example in File:Mapa del África colonial (1939).svg, where Namibia and South Africa have a separate color, and Botswana, Eswatini and Lesotho are correctly shown under British rule, regardless of their differing autonomous statuses under Britain.

Wiki Science Competition 2025

Dear uploader of European Science Photo Competition 2015 and Wiki Science Competition 2017, Wiki Science Competition 2019, Wiki Science Competition 2021 and Wiki Science Competition 2023, we would like to remind you that Wiki Science Competition 2025 has started in almost all the countries.
If you want to take part in WSC2025, please consult this page. Only some national categories are associated to competitions with local prizes.
If you are an expert user, we remind you that images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface.
If you already took part in a country that has completed its upload phase (such as Chile or Bangladesh), please consider improving the description in English of your files (click on the edit button), since such description is what the international jury will use to evaluate them. World finalists will be finalized after March 2026.
Sorry for bothering you and have a nice wiki.

- Hello Carnby, about cervids with singles antlers: that kind of subject is related to STEM, and in those fields, LOTS of people (myself included) are strongly frowning upon using AI generators to produce imagery that is available for capture "in the wild", in the nature.
- Your local Wikipedia community, the Italian one, is one of the larger kind, so... If you really need an image of a roe with a single antler, may I suggest that you go asking for one on your local WP reference desk (or on EN or FR)? Chances are that either other Wikimedians themselves or acquaintances of them are active hunters that may have an actual image of a single antlered roe that they hunted and who could be willing to release that image under a free license. Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 16:25, 23 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello, Carnby.
Can you remove the de facto border of Somaliland in File:People's Republics.png and File:People's Republics.svg? The maps are only about current and past de jure states as well as breakaway states, which declared themselves as "peoples' republics". The breakaway Somaliland never declared itself a "peoples' republic".

File:Countries that use Fahrenheit.svg and File:Countries that use Celsius.svg
Hello, Carnby.
In File:Countries that use Fahrenheit.svg and File:Countries that use Celsius.svg, can you remove Liberia, because that country has completely switched to Celsius for measuring temperatures (and fully to the metric system for measuring all other weather phenomena from precipitation, wind speed to wave heights, etc...). All weather reports are now given in metric units. In Liberian media, likewise, weather reports are now given in Celsius and the metric system.
Source from the Liberia Meteorological Service: https://meteoliberia.com/
File:Metrication.svg
In File:Metrication.svg, can you color Liberia in orange, because Liberia is undergoing metrication since the 2010s and is now semi-metric, as it has adopted Celsius, km/h in roads, and North Korea in yellow, because North Korea overwhelmingly uses the metric system since 2013. File:Orthodoxy by Country.svg
Hello, Carnby.
Thank you very much for the updates.
One last request for this month:
In File:Orthodoxy by Country.svg, can you color Azerbaijan only in light purple (Minority religion (1% - 5%), because Russian and Georgian Eastern Orthodox make up in total 1% of Azerbaijan's population, and get rid of the color pink of the Oriental Orthodox Church, which the Armenian Apostolic Church is part of, because virtually all Armenians fled Nagorno-Karabakh, thus reducing the Armenian and consequently the Oriental Orthodox population in Azerbaijan to virtually 0%; can you color Iran in gray, because Christians as a whole make up far less than 1% of Iran's population; and can you add the border of South Sudan and color it to gray, because its Christian population has no Oriental Orthodox congregations? The SVG map is used in many Wikipedia articles. Its duplicate File:World Orthodoxy.JPG, is already updated.
File:Burka ban world map.svg and File:Full-face veils ban in Europe.svg
Hello, Carnby.
Can you color Kazakhstan in dark red in File:Burka ban world map.svg and File:Full-face veils ban in Europe.svg? Kazakhstan banned the wearing of face coverings in public places, which also includes the burka and niqab, in 2025.

Buongiorno Carnby,
