WLM-app takes a walk on the wild side!

Hello Aethonatic.

You can now use the WLM app not only to upload your photos for Wiki Loves Monuments, but also to take part in Wiki Loves Earth - Sweden!

From May 1 to May 30, you’ll have the chance to share photos of Sweden’s natural areas and join the contest directly from the app.

Please stop targeting me

Hi There,

I am increasingly concerned that you have targeted me again. If I remember right you did this last year. With an aim to put me down, eithout just reason or rationale. I’m not the type of person to say anything about your images if I had I would discuss them with you separately, which you haven’t with me! MatthewDavid41 (talk) 15:23, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

I'll admit that the thread on COM:AN/U was a bit of a fluke, especially since looking at it now it has been a while since you were last informed of what's wrong with your uploads, but in no way am I targeting you. I simply stopped paying attention since the last time I flagged one of your uploads as a potential violation of COM:DUPE until I noticed an image you had edited with AI within a category and I suppose I got a bit trigger happy. If it helps, maybe I could try to guide you on the right path here?
From what I understand - as has been pointed out to me - utilisation of AI seems to be accepted if it's used for minor cleanup or colourisation of an image. Comparing one of your uploads with the original, it does seem colourisation tweaks are present, but there are clear examples of AI interference (i.e. some of the chimneys, especially at the top-left, seem to have been completely changed, the street sign text also appears to have been malformed), which could potentially border on being AI generation?
I could also point you to COM:INUSE. Images are in COM:SCOPE if they are either in use or hold educational value. AI images holding educational value is subjective, and looking at your uploads that involve AI, it doesn't seem like any of them are in use. The photographs you've taken yourself are bound to hold educational value, so they're fine.
I apologise if I've caused you any trouble, (though I'm not sure how the notification pointing you to the thread was offensive, could you explain that for me?) it's clear there's something I can learn from this experience too. Aethonatic (talk) 15:00, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
