Victoria and Albert Museum – kind photo request

Hi DiscoA340, I saw some nice photos you took in the V&A Museum – and I'm kind of „desparately“ looking for a photo of one object to add in one of my recent articles – not the most importat thing in the world, but if you happen to be inside the museum at some time of the near future, it would be wonderful if you could take a picture of this stained glass object. It would also be nice to connect these scattered fragments of the Dijon Sainte-Chapelle windows in Wikidata. @Elya: (I'm soon about to go on a short vacation. I just wanted to send this reply, but I apologise in advance for late communication, hereafter). I hope all is well! I would be happy to help (any excuse to visit the V&A Museum again!), but unfortunately, I'm currently in the United States (Utah) for the time being, and don't visit London that frequently. I did in fact visit the museum when I visited London in 2024, and am slowly uploading pictures I took from that trip, when I find time to. However, I just quickly checked them, and I don't think I photographed that stained glass artwork. Sorry for not being able to help!

It might be worth requesting a photo of the artwork on a Village Pump page and/or asking for help from a member of a London-based WikiProject. The only person who actively uploads photos to Wikimedia Commons, and whom I believe lives near London, is @No Swan So Fine (if they are up to the task and are available to help, of course).

Am I reading this right: You are wanting to better organise photos of the Dijon Sainte-Chapelle windows which are already in Wikidata? If so, @14GTR might be able to help, as I remember they did a big project categorising V&A Museum photos, by room, a while back.

It will be at least two weeks before I can next visit the V&A but will try to photograph that panel then. I'll check the photos I have not uploaded to Commons in case I might already have done so. I am not sure about Wikidata question.Would it be a case of adding images, with different Q numbers, to a shared page ?14GTR (talk) 14:46, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

thanks @14GTR! For the moment I haven't checked the Q-items beyond my local Schnütgen museum, but I'll take care for some modeling on Wikidata for all of them. I think there should/could be an item for stained glass windows from Sainte-Chapelle and wie could work with "part of" for the fragments. I also want to highlight what an incredible turnout we had. In the second round, we saw a massive jump in both the number of users voting and the total votes cast. We had exactly 13,979 votes cast by 3,509 users! To put that in perspective, last year we had 7,403 votes from 2,837 users. It is amazing to see that level of growth and community engagement.
