Romanian photos

I see you've tagged several old Romanian photos as missing permission, such as File:Haralamb Georgescu.png. However, note that per {{PD-RO-photo}}, Romanian photographs published before 1991 are in the public domain, so the correct thing to do for such images is to fix the license rather than nominating them for deletion. Feel free to nominate for COM:DR if you have significant doubt regarding the publication date. In general:

• {{No permission since}} should be used mostly for modern photos where the primary mechanism for saving the file is to provide proof of a free license from the copyright holder, which could come in multiple forms such as: 1) a link to an external website with a free license; 2) COM:VRT; or 3) additional evidence that it really is own work.
• COM:DR should be used where the primary mechanism for saving the file is to argue successfully that the work is PD. Tagging these with "no permission" is a bad idea because it doesn't provide people with good advice on what they need to do.
• {{Copyvio}} should be used only when there is clear evidence of copyvio and there is no reasonable chance of saving the file through any means.

Привіт!

Прийом робіт на цьогорічний фотоконкурс «Вікі любить пам'ятки» завершено! Ми дуже вдячні, що Ви взяли участь у змаганні!

Попри війну, разом ми змогли зібрати близько 14 тисяч світлин пам'яток української культурної спадщини від майже 300 учасників та учасниць.

Детальніша статистика (за об'єктами, завантажувачами тощо) буде трохи згодом. Стежте за оновленнями у блозі wlm.org.ua — підпишіться, щоб отримувати повідомлення про нові дописи на електронну пошту! 

Дуже просимо пройти опитування, щоб ми могли удосконалити наш конкурс наступного разу: відгук у Google-формі.

Інформація про те, як отримати електронний сертифікат учасника конкурсу (якщо такий вам потрібен) — в опитуванні.

Долучайтеся до фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить фольклор» 2023

Доброго дня! Зараз саме час показати світу українську культуру та більше розказати про Україну, тому запрошуємо до 31 березня включно долучитись до міжнародної кампанії «Вікі любить фольклор» (Wiki Loves Folklore).

Це щорічний міжнародний фотоконкурс, присвячений народній культурі різних регіонів у таких категоріях, як, зокрема, народні фестивалі, народні танці, народна музика, народні ігри, народна кухня, народний одяг, фольклор та традиції, народні казки, легенди, традиційні пісні та танці, народні п’єси, ігри, сезонні події, народне мистецтво, народна релігія, міфологія тощо.

Конкурс проходить з 1 лютого по 31 березня. Окрім загальних міжнародних призів, цього року ГО «Вікімедіа Україна» додатково нагородить призами та відзнаками авторів та авторок найкращих фото з України, завантажених будь-коли протягом конкурсу 2023 року. Щоб фото отримало шанс поборотися за додаткові відзнаки, при завантаженні потрібно вказати у полі «країна» Україну.

Зверніть увагу: стандартно ми розглядатимемо лише фото, зроблені на території України. Якщо ви хочете подати на розгляд світлини української культури, зроблені на території інших країн, завантажте їх і надішліть нам посилання на поштову адресу eduwikimedia.org.ua. Якщо фото зроблене на території України, воно потрапить на оцінювання автоматично, надсилати на пошту не потрібно.

Привіт! Сподіваємося, що у Вас та Ваших рідних усе максимально добре. Нагадуємо, що конкурс триває до 31 жовтня. За перший тиждень конкурсу в українській частині конкурсу завантажено понад 4000 фото, взяли участь майже 90 учасників.

Важливо! Через російське вторгнення в Україну також довелося змінити умови: тільки роботи зняті до 30 червня 2023 року включно будуть прийматися на конкурс. Єдиний виняток — спецномінація «Інтер'єри» можна подавати світлини без обмежень за датою створення.

Однак, є виняток — спецномінація «Інтер'єри», де можна подавати файли, які зроблені й під час конкурсу. Внедрение Creative Commons на молдавских правительственных сайтах

Добрый вечер! Спасибо, что поблагодарили меня за создание категории по правительственному порталу Молдавии. Но ещё остаётся немало вопросов - будете ли вы работать над внедрением свободных лицензий на других правительственных сайтах и проводить их мониторинг? А вот будете заливать молдавских политиков с сайтов других стран? Их много на сайтах России, Украины, Flickr-аккаунтов стран Евросоюза и тому подобное. Не забудьте написать о необходимости мониторинга коллегам из румынской Википедии - в Румынии я так думаю тоже немало свободного контента. Также пишите статьи в русских Викиновостях, если же будут новые ресурсы со свободными лицензиями - русскоязычная аудитория быстрее отреагирует, учитывая то, что она объединяет не только жителей России, но и всего постсоветского пространства. Между тем я не смог выяснить через Архив Интернета точную дату перехода правительственного портала Молдавии на свободную лицензию. Между тем в непризнанном Приднестровье ещё в 2016 году были впервые введены свободные лицензии благодаря Kodru - он планирует перевести сайт Правительства республики.

Во всяком случае постараюсь убедить пресс-службу Правительства ПМР. Сайт МИДа и Президента тогда удалось перевести, так как меня помнили и знали лично. Ещё кстати я заметил, что минус президентского сайта в том, что здесь изображения в крайне низком разрешении, включая официальный портрет Майи Санду. Спасибо. Все новые фотографии публикуются на фликр, я импортирую оттуда регулярно (Category:Photos from Parlamentul Republicii Moldova Flickr stream). Что касается самого сайта парламента, на данный момент мне нечего оттуда залить. Думал о портретах депутатов – но эти изображения крохотные, зачастую на том же фликре можно найти хорошего качества фотографии тех же людей, как например File:16.05.2024 Larisa Voloh (cropped).jpg.

З 1 по 31 жовтня запрошуємо до участі в українській частині міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки», метою якого є фотографування пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України. Зі списками пам'яток можна ознайомитися тут.

Окрім основних номінацій у конкурсі є дев’ять спеціальних номінацій та відзнак: «Відео», «Війна руйнує пам'ятки», «Елементи екстер'єру», «Єврейська спадщина» (включаючи караїмські), «Інтер'єри», «Німецька спадщина», «Польська спадщина», «Фотоплівка» та «Визначні місця Харкова».

Важливо! Через російське вторгнення в Україну також довелося змінити умови: у більшості випадків тільки роботи зняті до 30 червня 2024 року включно будуть прийматися на конкурс. Тільки фото інтер'єрів памяток можна подавати без обмеження за датою створення.

Привіт! Сподіваємося, що у Вас та Ваших рідних усе максимально добре. Нагадуємо, що конкурс триває до 31 жовтня. За перший тиждень конкурсу в українській частині конкурсу завантажено понад 6000 фото, взяли участь більше 90 учасників.

Поки зовсім відсутні світлини з АР Крим та Севастополя. Дуже мало робіт із Луганської (1 фото), Миколаївської (2), Донецької (35), Херсонської (42). Менше 100 робіт із Хмельницької (55), Кіровоградської (63), Черкаської (65), Рівненської (70), Одеської (73) та Запорізької (96) областей. Можливо, у Вас є світлини пам'яток з цих регіонів? Website glitch

While looking up a photo of Tamaraxonim I discovered a glitch in the website russiainphoto.ru, a website which you have uploaded photo(s) from. The link of a photo from the search results will change over time to different photos, meaning that the link in the photo is often to a different one after is it uploaded. Please take care to post the stable link in the source part instead of the unstable search results link. Trying to fix these problems is going to take a very long time for me, so please self-correct if you can. Молдавские и румынские сайты

Добрый вечер! Поздравляю Вас с наступающими новогодними праздниками! У меня вопрос такой - какие молдавские и румынские сайты стали свободными в уходящем году, помимо президента и правительства? Между тем новый парламентский сайт стал несвободным, а вот мне с Минобороны России повезло - их новая версия, работающая с ноября, также спустя некоторое время перешла на свободную лицензию. Defaultsort

Hi, Gikü. How are you doing? I'm doubtful about how {{DEFAULTSORT}} is used for Romanian places. Let's take this one as an example. Haăârtop for example means it will come under "Ha", but it will be at the end of all the hypothetical "Ha"s. Wouldn't it make more sense to have simply Hartop? I think that, if "â" has to be after everything else, then let's leave it there, at the end, with no sorting. There are cases in which this doesn't make a difference, but in other cases it does. I just don't understand why it would go after all the "a"s but before everything else. I'm not a speaker of the language and maybe that's why I can't get my head around it, so maybe you could help me and explain it to me. Thank you very much in advance. Hello. In Romanian these diacritics go immediately after the letter they're complementing – see en:Romanian alphabet. We're adding them like that in defaultsort on Commons so that when we're looking at the pages listed in a category we're seeing them where they belong from the standpoint of the Romanian alphabet. I usually only do it when I expect the categories that the page will appear in only contains Romanian words (in other cases, the approach you've described is more applicable). Such a category is Category:Communes in Romania by name. Since most of the time the people browsing the category will be Romanian-speaking, they'll expect to find Category:Băbăița commune, Teleorman somewhere between Category:Ba... and Category:Bâ... instead of randomly mixed in among all the Category:Ba.../Bă.../Bâ.... Oh, no, no. Then it makes perfect sense. If that's the order in the Romanian alphabet (and I see that now), then that's perfectly correct and that's the order it should follow in every case. Hi, Gikü. WRT this comment it's not such a big deal. The best way to do things would of course be to carefully follow the history to determine what the category was created for (and also analyze the current content of the category, that could be also taken into account) but I understand that sometimes we can be guided by the current infobox, which is faster. The important thing is to take things seriously. If there are 20 mistakes in 2000 name changes, maybe it's OK enough. Of course, they could be corrected in the medium term, if deemed necessary. The problem is making 2000 mistakes in 2000 name changes, even when you've been told that it's not the right way to do things, and the procedure (by policy) has been pointed out to you several times (in en.wikipedia they may call that wp:icanthearyou issues). Hi, Gikü. The idea behind the 'by name' categories is to have every single place in the county (no matter if it's a city, a town, a commune or a village) listed under the same 'flat list'. Well, let's discuss. I assumed the 'Populated places' category is supposed to contain populated places only, or settlements – "atomic" so-to-say. Those are cities/towns and villages. A commune in contrast is a subdivision (en:Communes of Romania), it always contains something. I guess if we include the communes we should include the county itself as well. If I were right, then Category:Communes in Romania should be removed from Category:Populated places in Romania and Category:Villages in Romania+Category:Cities in Romania should be removed from Category:Administrative units of Romania.
