Over-categorization

Hi! I like your SVGs, but they were put into very broad categories. E.g. First_law_of_Kepler.svg is in the categories Physics, Astronomy, Astrodynamics and Kepler motions. Kepler motions is a subcategory of Astrodynamics, which itself is a distant subcategory of both Astronomy and Physics. This is called over-categorization. Please consider reading the official policy on categories to learn more about it and why it is a problem. Thank you. TilmannR (talk) 08:37, 12 October 2018 (UTC)

The engine was mirrored for aesthetic reasons. Arrows are correct, in my opinion! MikeRun (talk) 09:35, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Electric Potential

Thanks for uploading Electric-dipole-field-lines-and-equipotential-lines.svg. In case you are interested, VectorFieldPlot now has a built-in functionality to draw potentials, using the function draw_contours(). An example with code can be found at VFPt charges plus minus potential+contour.svg and the colored background is of course optional. Your image could be created with the code

doc.draw_contours(func=field.V, levels=sc.linspace(-0.46, 0.46, 33), linewidth=2.1, linecolor='#808000', resolution_px=1)

Thanks a lot! MikeRun

Created with VectorFieldPlot

Please, do not add files to this category manually ! Use the script, or the template Igen; please tag your other SVG files as well, see e.g. Kirchhoff-example-circuit-loops.svg for example. -- sarang사랑 14:10, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Sorry, this was not done on purpose. I think for instance had "Created with VectorFieldPlot" in the original soucre file, since it is shown as hidden category. Or maybe the deriveFX tool did this?!?! --MikeRun (talk) 16:39, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
It should not be categorized manually with [[Category:Created with VectorFieldPlot]]. The Category:Valid SVG created with VectorFieldPlot will be added by the template.
I did it now also with the VFPt Earths Magnetic Field Confusion overlay.svg -- sarang사랑 18:39, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

A barnstar for you

Fantastic drawings! I believe those are very precious works for Commons. With this I award you the Graphic Designer's Barnstar. Keep the good work going. --Geek3 (talk) 10:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

Field direction

Hey, great work you're uploading. I think one of the fields in File:VFPt wires parallel individual and combined fields.svg has a wrong direction. --Geek3 (talk) 10:09, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

sorry, this was the result of careless copy and paste. the direction is now correct. Thanks for hinting! --MikeRun (talk) 13:53, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

Zyclotron

Hi MikeRun, I discovered an mistake in your image about the Zyclotron File:Zyclotron.svg. The circular path of the particle must be counter clockwise and not clockwise. Because according to the Right Hand Rule the Lorentz force points in the back at the beginning and so will the paticle move also to the back. Then the circular path will be counter clockwise. If the particle would be negatively charged or the magnetic field would point upwards the image would be correct.

You are right! Thanks for hinting! I reversed the direction of the magentic field. MikeRun (talk) 10:37, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi MikeRun, i am a german youtuber who makes learning-videos on youtube. I have seen your work and i like it a lot. My question is, can i use your graphics for my thumbnails of my youtube-videos? I have done a lot of research regarding copyrights, which says that it should be allowed to do if i put your name and the titles and links to your work and the licenses in the video-description. But to be a hundret percent sure, i wanted to ask you if that is OK.  Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2003:ED:7F17:FBC6:5C7F:48AD:85AB:1CB0 (talk) 17:05, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Yes, thats OK! Please be so kind and post a link of one of your videos here, since I am curious about it MikeRun (talk) 09:19, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Sure, this is a recent video with one of your graphics in the thumbnail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGRQ0j8BeWQ  Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2003:ED:7F01:2F36:4441:2A9F:724A:3F99 (talk) 17:45, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Thank you for your "Einstein triangle" for the energy-momentum relation, it's a really cool way to display the equation and I'm using it in my highschool thesis! Wish me good luck, I really need it! Hahah, have a nice day! From Italy

Dear uploader of European Science Photo Competition 2015 and Wiki Science Competition 2017, Wiki Science Competition 2019, Wiki Science Competition 2021 and Wiki Science Competition 2023, we would like to remind you that Wiki Science Competition 2025 has started in almost all the countries.

If you want to take part in WSC2025, please consult this page. Only some national categories are associated to competitions with local prizes.

If you are an expert user, we remind you that images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface.

If you already took part in a country that has completed its upload phase (such as Chile or Bangladesh), please consider improving the description in English of your files (click on the edit button), since such description is what the international jury will use to evaluate them. World finalists will be finalized after March 2026.

Sorry for bothering you and have a nice wiki.
