Hi KarlGaff, can you elaborate on the description of This image you uploaded. It is a nice image and thank you for uploading it. The file description says: magnification x100. Is this a microscopic photo? What is being photographed? Is the fluid streaming (moving) on the top half of the image as well? If yes, why is it not interacting with the small circular boundary on the top half? Normally, the top of each vortix moves in the same direction as the stream itself, which according to the file description is from left to right. Therefore these vortices should be clockwise. But according to how they look as well as the file description, these vortices are counterclockwise. Is there an explanation for that? I am trying to use this image in an English Wikipedia article, Here, and your answers can clear things up. Thank you in advance. Bammesk (talk) 23:34, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

- Yes this is photograph captured through a microscope configured for DIC. The sample constitutes a viscous agent and a volatile agent, namely glycerol and ethanol. The boundary on the lower half is an air cavity. Above this we have the viscous medium. Ethanol is injected from the right-hand side and streams along the boundary. The air bubble located above the stream embedded in the viscous medium not yet interacts with the flow. Yes you are right, my mistake, the stream is moving from right to left. Larva polarized light question
Hello, I just saw your photo of the larva, phenomenal work!
I wanted to ask, why do you use polarized light? Perhaps relatedly, how should I interpret the colors? Do the colors correspond to different orientations of polarized light?

- Thank you. Polarised light makes the invisible, visible. The glowing colours arise from the highly ordered and aligned arrangement of myosin fiber bundles that exhibit birefringence within the muscle tissue.
- When polarized light passes through the muscle tissue, it interacts with the proteins and other structures within the fibers. This interaction causes the light to split into different colours based on the orientation of the fibers and the structure of the proteins.
- The colours seen under polarized light can provides information about the organization and structure of the muscle tissue.
