Welcome

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Rollback right given

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Commons:Rollback. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Achim55 (talk) 07:28, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
Information on temporary account IP viewer rights
Hello MathXplore,
On November 12, temporary accounts will be enabled on Commons. The IP of unregistered users will then be hidden for most users. You, as a patroller or license reviewer, are eligible to request the new temporary account IP viewer right, if you need it to continue fighting vandalism and abuse on Commons. If you want to request the right, please file the request here. Please be aware that you also have to accept the Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy in your preferences. For more information about temporary accounts, look at the project page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:34, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
On what basis you put my User Page under U3?
Recently you Asked for Speedy Deletion of my Wiki Commons user page, That too under section U3? On what basis you decided that U3 is applicable on my user page please explain me Mr. MathXplore...? Atharv Chandel (talk) 07:16, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- U3 includes user pages that contain promotional material (Commons:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#User). Use Commons:Undeletion requests for undeletion. MathXplore (talk) 07:28, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
Category:Mass murder in the United States in the 2010s vs Category:2010s mass murder in the United States
Wait which category title is the correct one? Trade (talk) 00:28, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
- I created Category:Mass murder in the United States in the 2010s because I found it as a red link. I'm not sure whether it is the correct one or not. MathXplore (talk) 13:40, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
Category:English-language_documentary_films
|
English-language documentary films has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |
