Deutsch: Mikroprozessoren, die bspw. als Laptopmikroprozessor zu einem Desktopprozessor oder von und zu anderen Plattformen modifiziert werden. Hierbei wird möglicherweise auch das Package (Gehäuse) angepasst. Desktop-CPUs, die mit Desktop-CPU-Sockel in Laptops verbaut sind, gehören nicht darunter, da sie echte Desktop-CPUs bleiben und nicht verändert werden. "Mutanten" werden üblicherweise nicht mit CPU-Hersteller erzeugt, sondern eher "inoffiziell". Aufgrund der Modifikationsart können Funktionen eingeschränkt sein oder Kompatibilitäten fehlen. Hardwareschäden durch die Modifikation sind durch keine Herstellergarantien gedeckt.
English: Microprocessors that are modified, e.g. as a laptop microprocessor transforemed to a desktop processor or from and to other platforms. The package may also be adapted in the process. Desktop CPUs that are installed in laptops with desktop CPU sockets are not included here, as they remain genuine desktop CPUs and are not modified. “Mutants” are usually not created with CPU manufacturers, but rather ‘unofficially’.
