One more error
We get Expression error: Unrecognized word "en". due to {{taken in|{{other date|between|1932|1937}}}} (example from here). -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 11:09, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
Fixed I do not know {{Taken in}} but it does not like output of {{other date|between|1932|1937}}. --Jarekt (talk) 12:27, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- I don’t know either, that’s why I come here. That’s no fix. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 20:15, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- Template modified so that it doesn’t blow up with this input. However, this input doesn’t make any sense: “Taken in between 1932 and 1937” is, while being syntactically valid English, simply doesn’t mean the same thing as “Taken in 1932” or “Taken in May 1932”. So even though there’s no expression error, I still support Jarekt’s version on this particular file page. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 23:15, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Tuvalkin: this is not {{Other date}} issue which translates date related expressions to other languages, and it is also not an issue with {{Taken in}} which clearly states in the documentation that it takes date in ISO format. The issue is that someone was combining templates which were never designed to go together. If there is a need for {{Taken in}} template which can take input in other formats, than someone should write it, but until then we do not have a way to combine those. --Jarekt (talk) 01:25, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

Bug in TOC
The headers are broken in the TOC at Deutschland under "Heads of State". Previously reported this here and at VP/ (each 0 replies). Please fix that.
Otherwise, it may be best to remove all uses of this template in headers. Prototyperspective (talk) 22:58, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don’t think this QuickStatements thing makes any sense in the gallery namespace, so a simple namespace-based switch could solve the problem. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 18:50, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't know what a
simple namespace-based switch
is and how it could solve this issue here. Prototyperspective (talk) 20:11, 4 October 2024 (UTC)- In wikitext, that simple namespace-based switch would look like
{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACE}}|File|<!-- add QS stuff -->}}(to only show in File namespace) or{{#if:{{NAMESPACE}}|<!-- add QS stuff -->}}(to only hide in gallery namespace). Since this template is written in Lua, the switch needs to be coded differently, but the principle is the same: completely skip the QS-related things (instead of usingdisplay:nonein CSS), so that the table of contents doesn’t show them either. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 21:58, 4 October 2024 (UTC)- Would be nice if you could add that to the template in that case. Before/after meaning
Not clear if before/after date value is meant to be included (feels like true, but strictly considering </>, param variants, false). —Mykhal (talk) 09:21, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
Gregorian months in Islamic
When entering a date in YYYY-MM format with era=AH, it is rendered as, for example, «May 1028 AH», while the fifth Hijri month is Jumada al-awwal (or Jumada al-ula). To my knowledge, Hijri months are already present in Translatewiki; can they be imported and used by this template in this context? Lanhiaze (talk) 19:31, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
